How to Remove the Key Lock and Wiring Harness on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter

This tutorial covers the complete removal of the Arwibon Q30 key lock assembly, including disconnecting the three key-lock connectors inside the deck, removing the right-side handlebar components, wrapping the connector group, and pulling the full key-lock cable out through the frame and stem.

Tools Needed

Prepare:

• Masking tape or electrical tape
• Allen key or hex screwdriver
• Air gun or suitable grip-removal aid
• Scissors or utility knife
• Protective gloves

Disconnect the Key Lock Wiring Inside the Deck

Step 1: Remove the Battery Cover

Remove the deck-cover bolts and lift the battery cover.

Make sure the scooter is powered off before disconnecting any wiring.

Step 2: Locate the Key Lock Connectors

Follow the black cable coming down from the stem into the controller compartment.

Step 3: Disconnect the Three Key Lock Plugs

Press the locking tabs and separate the three plugs one by one.

Remove the Right Handlebar Components

Step 5: Remove the Right Grip

Move to the right side of the handlebar.

If an air gun is available, blow air between the grip and handlebar tube to loosen it.

If removing it by hand, twist the grip while pulling it outward.

Do not use excessive force that could tear the rubber grip.

Step 6: Loosen the Right Brake Lever

Use the Allen key to loosen the brake-lever clamp bolt.

Slide the brake lever outward along the handlebar.

If the brake cable remains connected, support the lever and do not pull it farther than the cable allows.

Keep the key-lock cable free while moving the assembly.

Prepare the Key Lock Connectors for Cable Removal

Step 8: Gather the Three Key Lock Plugs

Return to the controller compartment.

Straighten the three plugs so they sit in line with the cable.

Do not leave one connector sticking sideways because it can catch inside the frame or stem.

Step 9: Wrap the Three Plugs Together

Use masking tape or electrical tape to wrap the connector group.

Wrap the three connectors into a narrow, smooth shape.

Cover the locking tabs and edges so they do not catch while passing through the cable openings.

Do not make the taped section unnecessarily thick.

Pull the Key Lock Cable Out of the Deck

Step 10: Pull the Wrapped Connector Group Through the Frame Opening

Guide the taped connectors toward the lower cable opening near the folding base.

Pull steadily and keep the connectors aligned with the opening.

If the connector group catches, stop.

Push it back slightly, change the angle, and continue.

Do not pull harder against an obstruction.

Step 11: Move the Harness to the Lower Stem Opening

Continue pulling the key-lock harness out of the deck.

Keep the cable separated from the remaining main harness and brake cables.

Pull the Key Lock Harness Through the Stem

Step 12: Push From Below and Pull From Above

Use one hand at the lower stem opening to feed the cable upward.

Use the other hand near the upper stem opening to pull the harness gently.

Using both hands reduces the amount of force applied to the connectors and cable.

Step 13: Pull the Wrapped Plugs Out of the Upper Stem

Continue guiding the cable upward.

If the connectors stop moving, do not pull hard.

Push the cable slightly from below while changing the connector angle from above.

Step 14: Remove the Complete Key Lock Harness

Continue until the full key-lock cable is out of the stem and frame.

The key lock assembly and its long wiring harness are now fully removed from the scooter.

Important Notes

Wrap the Connectors Before Pulling Them Through the Stem

The inside of the Arwibon Q30 stem has limited space.

The three key-lock plugs should be wrapped into a narrow shape before pulling them through.

This keeps the connector locks and edges from catching inside the frame.

Do Not Pull Hard When the Cable Gets Stuck

If the harness stops moving, the connector group is usually caught on an internal edge or bend.

Push the cable back slightly, reposition it, and continue.

Hard pulling can damage the connector housing or pull a wire out of its terminal.

Protect the Brake Lever and Cable

If the right brake lever is moved aside while the brake cable remains connected, do not let it hang by the cable.

Keep enough slack so the brake housing is not bent sharply.
