How to Install the Rear Motor Adapter Harness on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter

This tutorial covers assembly of the Arwibon Q30 rear motor adapter harness, including the three high-current phase-wire connections, insulation sleeves, cable-tie fixing, and the 6-pin Hall connector housing.

Tools and Parts Needed

Prepare:

  • Rear motor adapter harness kit
  • Yellow, green, and blue phase-wire leads
  • Matching bolts and nuts for the ring terminals
  • 6-pin white Hall connector housing
  • White fiberglass insulating sleeves
  • Black insulating sleeves
  • Allen key
  • Small open-end wrench
  • Nylon cable ties
  • Scissors
  • Protective gloves

Keep the scooter powered off while working on the motor wiring.

Assemble the Three Phase-Wire Connections

The rear motor uses three high-current phase wires: yellow, green, and blue.

Each motor-side wire is joined to the matching adapter wire with a bolted ring-terminal connection. The supplied procedure then covers each metal joint with an inner black insulating sleeve and an outer white fiberglass sleeve.

Step 1: Connect the Yellow Phase Wire

Place the yellow motor-side ring terminal and yellow adapter-wire ring terminal together.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows this at about 00:01.

Align the two copper terminals and insert the bolt through both.

Fit the nut on the opposite side.

Use the Allen key and small wrench together to tighten the connection securely.

The video shows the joint being tightened at about 00:15.

Do not leave the ring terminals loose. A poor high-current connection can heat up during motor operation.

Step 2: Cover the Yellow Phase Joint

Move the black insulating sleeve over the bolted joint.

The official video shows this at about 00:23.

Cover the exposed conductive parts of the connection.

Then slide the white fiberglass sleeve over the black inner layer.

The video shows the outer sleeve at about 00:28.

The finished joint should not leave exposed metal between the phase wires.

Step 3: Position the Cable Ties

The supplied procedure shows black nylon ties being placed around the white insulating sleeve at about 00:36.

Leave them loose for now.

They will be tightened after all three phase-wire joints are assembled.

Step 4: Connect the Green Phase Wire

Match the green motor wire with the green adapter wire.

Place the two ring terminals together and install the bolt and nut.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows the green phase connection at about 00:50.

Hold the bolt and nut with the two tools and tighten the joint securely.

Step 5: Insulate the Green Phase Joint

Slide the black insulating sleeve over the metal connection.

Then move the white fiberglass sleeve over the outside.

The official video shows this at about 00:57.

Check that the complete conductive joint is covered.

Step 6: Connect the Blue Phase Wire

Match the blue motor-side wire with the blue adapter wire.

The official video shows the blue phase wires at about 01:00.

Overlap the ring terminals, insert the bolt, install the nut, and tighten the joint securely.

The connection is shown being tightened at about 01:08.

Step 7: Insulate the Blue Phase Joint

Cover the blue phase connection with the black inner insulating sleeve.

Then slide the white fiberglass sleeve over it.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows this at about 01:15.

Inspect all three phase connections before bundling them together.

No exposed bolt, nut, or ring-terminal metal should be able to contact another phase connection.

Secure the Three Phase-Wire Sleeves

Step 8: Arrange the Three Insulated Phase Wires

Place the yellow, green, and blue insulated joints side by side.

The official video shows this at about 01:17.

Keep the sleeves straight and avoid sharp bends immediately beside the bolted terminals.

Step 9: Tighten the Cable Ties

Tighten the pre-positioned nylon cable ties around the three insulated sleeves.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows this at about 01:21.

The three phase-wire joints are shown secured together at about 01:24.

The cable ties should hold the sleeves in position without crushing or sharply bending the wires.

Trim excess cable-tie ends if needed.

Assemble the 6-Pin Hall Connector

The second part of the supplied procedure installs the individual Hall-wire terminals into the white 6-pin connector housing.

The video shows five wires being inserted into the 6-position housing.

Because connector orientation matters, keep the housing in the same position shown in the procedure while inserting the terminals.

Step 10: Position the White Hall Connector Housing

Hold the white 6-pin connector housing with the locking tab facing the same direction shown in the official video.

The connector is shown at about 01:28.

Do not rotate the housing during the sequence or the cavity positions can become confusing.

Step 11: Insert the Black Wire Terminal

Locate the black-wire terminal.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows it being inserted at about 01:34.

Align the metal terminal with the correct cavity and push it into the housing until it locks.

Do not force the terminal if it does not slide in correctly.

Check its orientation first.

Step 12: Insert the Blue Wire Terminal

Insert the blue-wire terminal into the next position shown in the video.

The official procedure shows this at about 01:39.

Push the terminal in until the retaining tab locks inside the connector housing.

Step 13: Insert the Green Wire Terminal

Insert the green-wire terminal into the next cavity shown in the supplied procedure.

The official video shows this at about 01:43.

Push it fully into place.

Step 14: Insert the Yellow Wire Terminal

Insert the yellow-wire terminal into the position shown in the video.

The official Arwibon Q30 procedure shows this at about 01:47.

Again, make sure the terminal reaches its locked position.

Step 15: Insert the Red Wire Terminal

Insert the red-wire terminal into the final position shown in the supplied procedure.

The official video shows this at about 01:52.

Push it fully into the connector housing.

The 6-position housing contains five installed wires in the procedure shown.

Do not fill the remaining cavity unless the replacement harness specifically requires it.

Check the Hall Terminals

Step 16: Pull-Test Each Wire

After all five terminals are installed, hold the connector housing and gently pull each wire one at a time.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows this check at about 01:55.

Each terminal should remain locked inside the housing.

If one wire pulls backward, remove and reinstall that terminal before using the connector.

The completed Hall connector is shown at about 01:58.

Check the Phase Connections Before Installation

Before placing the adapter harness into the scooter, inspect all three high-current joints again.

Confirm that:

  • yellow is connected to yellow;
  • green is connected to green;
  • blue is connected to blue;
  • each bolted joint is secure;
  • no ring terminal can rotate loosely;
  • the black inner insulation covers the metal joint;
  • the white outer sleeve covers the connection;
  • the three phase joints cannot touch each other electrically.

Check the Hall Connector Before Connection

Look at the face of the white Hall connector.

Make sure the terminals sit at a similar depth.

A terminal that sits farther back than the others may not make contact when the connector is plugged in.

Also check that none of the metal terminals were bent during insertion.

Important Notes

Keep the Phase-Wire Joints Fully Insulated

The three motor phase wires carry high current.

The bolted joints must not contact each other or exposed metal inside the deck.

The supplied procedure uses a black insulating layer with a white fiberglass outer sleeve around each connection.

Do Not Leave a Loose Ring-Terminal Connection

A loose phase-wire connection can develop heat at the joint.

If a terminal moves after tightening, reopen the sleeve and correct the connection before installation.

Follow the Hall Connector Position Shown in the Procedure

The exact cavity position matters.

Do not insert the Hall terminals based only on general wire-color assumptions.

Keep the connector orientation fixed and follow the same sequence shown in the supplied Arwibon Q30 procedure.

Pull-Test the Hall Wires

After terminal insertion, gently pull each wire.

This confirms that the small retaining tang has locked inside the connector housing.

A backed-out Hall terminal can cause intermittent motor operation or a Hall-related fault.

Final Check

Before connecting the rear motor adapter harness, confirm that:

  • all three phase wires are matched by color;
  • all three ring-terminal joints are secure;
  • no conductive metal is exposed;
  • the black and white insulating sleeves are correctly positioned;
  • the phase-wire bundle is secured without crushing the wires;
  • all five Hall terminals are installed in the positions shown in the procedure;
  • every Hall terminal passes a light pull test;
  • no terminal sits recessed inside the connector housing.

After the adapter harness has been checked, connect it to the corresponding motor and controller wiring and keep the battery disconnected until all motor connections have been completed.
