How to Replace the Main Controller on an Arwibon Q30Pro
The main controller is the central electrical component that connects the battery, motor, Hall sensor, throttle signal, and lighting control circuits. This guide follows the official arwibon q30 pro controller replacement procedure, including controller removal, wiring connections, and the final power-on test.
Tools and Parts Needed
- New Arwibon Q30 pro main controller
- Allen wrench set
- Protective gloves
Step 1: Disconnect the Battery Power
Open the deck and locate the yellow XT60 connector between the battery and controller.
Disconnect the XT60 first. This removes the main battery power before you work on the other connectors.
Do not start disconnecting the signal or motor wiring while the battery is still connected.
Step 2: Disconnect the Motor Phase Cable
Locate the yellow MT60 connector used for the motor phase wires.
Hold both connector housings and pull them straight apart. Do not pull on the wires themselves.
Keep the connector clean while the controller is removed.
Step 3: Disconnect the Motor Hall Sensor Connector
Find the white 6-pin Hall sensor connector.
Press the locking tabs and separate the two connector halves. Pull the housing straight apart rather than pulling on the individual wires.
Keep the connector and terminals free from dirt or moisture.
Step 4: Disconnect the Throttle Control Connector
Locate the black 3-pin control connector used for the throttle/control signal.
Release the locking tab and separate the connector.
If several similar connectors are present, keep track of their original positions before removing them.
Step 5: Disconnect the Tail Light Connector and Remove the Controller
Disconnect the black 3-pin tail light connector.
Then disconnect the remaining multi-pin main harness connector from the controller.
Once all connectors are free, support the controller and remove it from the deck compartment.
Do not pull the controller out by its wiring.
Step 6: Install the New Controller
Take the replacement Q30Pro controller and place it into the controller mounting area.
Position the controller with the cable outlets facing toward the rear, as shown in the official procedure.
Arrange the wires so they are not sharply bent or trapped underneath the controller.
Step 7: Connect the Battery XT60 and Motor MT60
Connect the yellow XT60 battery connector. Align the keyed shape before pushing the two halves together.
Next, connect the yellow MT60 motor connector. Align the connector's triangular keyed section and push the housings fully together.
Do not force either connector if the keyed sections are not aligned.
Step 8: Connect the 3-Pin Control Connector
Connect the black 3-pin control connector to its matching harness.
Align the connector and push it straight in until the locking tab engages.
Give the connector housing a light pull to confirm that it is properly seated.
Step 9: Connect the Tail Light Connector
Connect the black 3-pin tail light connector to the matching harness.
Align the connector correctly and push it together until the locking mechanism engages.
Keep the cable routed away from sharp edges and moving parts.
Step 10: Connect the Motor Hall Sensor
Connect the white 6-pin Hall sensor connector.
Align the keyed guide and locking tab, then push the connector fully together.
Do not force the connector or bend the terminals if the two halves do not line up.
Step 11: Power On and Test the Scooter
Move to the right side of the handlebar and turn the key clockwise.
The small voltage display should illuminate and show the battery voltage. The approximately 49.9V reading shown in the official video is an example of the test result, not a required fixed value.
The main color display should also turn on and complete its startup sequence. In the video, it shows 00 MPH, the battery level, and READY.
If the display does not power on, switch the key off and recheck the XT60 and other connectors before continuing with further diagnosis.
Final Check
Before closing the deck, check the entire controller compartment:
- XT60 is fully connected.
- MT60 motor connector is fully seated.
- White 6-pin Hall connector is locked.
- Black control connectors are properly connected.
- No wires are trapped under the controller.
- No connector is under excessive tension.
- The deck cover will not pinch any wiring.
After the power-on test is successful, reinstall the deck cover and make sure all wiring remains clear of the cover edges and mounting points.
