How to Install the Tail Light on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter
This tutorial covers installation and wiring of the rear tail light on an Arwibon Q30 scooter. The tail light mounts to the rear fender bracket with two fasteners, and its wiring runs forward into the deck compartment where the matching connectors are joined.
Tools and Parts Needed
Prepare:
- Arwibon Q30 rear tail light assembly
- Two mounting bolts
- Metal washers
- Lock nuts
- Flat-head screwdriver or Allen key, depending on the supplied bolts
- Open-end wrench
- Protective gloves
Step 1: Position the Tail Light
Place the new tail light on the mounting bracket above the rear fender.
The official Arwibon Q30 video shows this at about 00:00.
Align the two mounting holes in the tail light bracket with the holes in the fender mounting point.
Keep the light centered before installing the hardware.
Step 2: Install the Mounting Hardware
Insert the two mounting bolts through the aligned holes.
From underneath the rear fender, install the washers and lock nuts.
The official video shows this beginning at about 00:01.
Start both nuts by hand before tightening either side fully.
Step 3: Tighten the Tail Light
Hold the bolt from one side with the screwdriver or Allen key.
Use an open-end wrench on the nut from underneath.
The official Arwibon Q30 scooter video shows the fasteners being tightened at about 00:04.
Work between the left and right mounting points until both are secure.
Check that the light sits straight and does not move on the bracket.
Step 4: Route the Tail Light Cable
Take the black cable coming from the tail light.
The official video shows the cable being arranged underneath the rear fender at about 00:28.
Follow the existing cable route rather than allowing the wire to hang freely near the tire.
Keep the cable clear of sharp edges.
Step 5: Feed the Cable Into the Deck
Guide the tail light cable through the rear frame area and into the deck compartment.
The official q30 electric scooter video shows this at about 00:34.
Pull the cable through gradually.
Do not pull hard on the connector ends or drag them against a sharp edge in the frame opening.
Leave enough cable at the rear for normal suspension movement.
Step 6: Locate the Tail Light Connectors
Inside the deck compartment, separate the tail light connector branches.
The official Arwibon Q30 video shows the connector group at about 00:42.
The supplied procedure shows four color-matched connections:
- red;
- green;
- white;
- yellow.
Match the connectors according to the wiring arrangement shown in the original scooter.
Step 7: Connect the Red Plug
Locate the red tail light connector and its matching red connector in the scooter harness.
The official video shows this connection at about 00:48.
Align the connector correctly and push the two halves fully together.
Do not pull on the wires after connection.
Step 8: Connect the Green Plug
Locate the green connector pair.
The official Arwibon Q30 scooter video shows this at about 00:53.
Join the matching green connectors until they are fully seated.
Step 9: Connect the White Plug
Connect the matching white plug.
The official video shows this at about 00:56.
Check the connector shape and locating feature before pushing it together.
Do not force a connector that does not align correctly.
Step 10: Connect the Yellow Plug
Connect the matching yellow connector.
The official q30 scooter video shows this at about 01:03.
Push it in completely.
For this installation, follow the color-to-color wiring shown in the supplied procedure rather than swapping plugs between colors.
Step 11: Organize the Wiring
Place the connected plugs and excess cable into the available space around the battery and controller.
The official video shows this at about 01:06.
Keep the tail light harness away from:
- the deck cover screw holes;
- sharp metal edges;
- moving suspension parts;
- the rear tire.
Do not close the deck with a connector trapped underneath the cover.
Step 12: Check the Cable Near the Rear Wheel
Before powering the scooter, inspect the cable route underneath the rear fender.
The wire should follow the intended route without hanging onto the tire.
Press down on the rear of the scooter and watch the cable while the suspension moves.
There should still be enough slack for suspension movement without the cable becoming tight or contacting the wheel.
Step 13: Test the Tail Light
Turn on the Arwibon Q30 and test the functions provided by the installed tail light assembly.
Check the rear running light with the scooter lighting switched on.
Operate both brake levers and check the brake-light response.
Then operate the left and right turn-signal controls and check the corresponding rear indicators.
The supplied procedure does not establish the exact flash pattern for every replacement tail light version, so the important check is that each intended function responds to the correct control.
Step 14: Reinstall the Deck Cover
Once the light and signal functions have been checked, arrange the connectors inside the compartment.
Place the deck cover back into position.
Before installing the screws, check around the entire edge to make sure no tail light wire or connector is being pinched.
Reinstall and secure the deck cover hardware.
Final Check
Before riding the Arwibon Q30 scooter, confirm that:
- both tail light mounting fasteners are secure;
- the tail light sits straight on the rear fender;
- the red, green, white, and yellow connectors are fully seated as shown in the supplied wiring procedure;
- the cable does not touch the rear tire;
- enough cable remains for suspension movement;
- the rear running light works;
- the brake-light function responds correctly;
- the left and right rear turn signals respond correctly;
- no wiring is trapped under the deck cover.
This procedure follows the official Arwibon Scooter video “Q30 Tail Light Installation | Arwibon Q30” and covers the mounting, cable routing, connector wiring, and functional test shown for the Arwibon Q30 scooter.
