How to Remove the Main Display on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter

by LafreniereyoaDoris 03 Sep 2026 0 Comments

This tutorial covers removal of the center main display on an arwibon q30 scooter. The display wiring is bundled with the handlebar harness, so the spiral wire sleeve and insulation tape need to be opened before the display connector can be disconnected.

The display itself is held to the handlebar bracket by four Allen bolts.

Tools Needed

Prepare:

  • Allen key
  • Scissors or utility knife
  • Protective gloves

Use extra care when cutting the insulation tape. Several small signal wires are bundled underneath it.

Step 1: Remove the Spiral Wire Sleeve

Start below the handlebar and follow the main wire bundle down toward the stem.

Unwind the black spiral wire sleeve by hand.

The official arwibon q30 video shows this beginning at about 00:01.

Continue unwinding the sleeve along the harness.

The video shows the spiral sleeve completely removed from the main wire bundle at about 00:39.

Do not pull the sleeve straight off the wiring. Unwind it gradually so the display cable and other control wires are not stretched.

Step 2: Locate the Display Mounting Bolts

Move to the back of the center display.

The official q30 electric scooter video shows the display mounting area at about 01:09.

Locate the four Allen bolts holding the display to the metal handlebar bracket.

Support the display with one hand before removing the last bolts.

Step 3: Remove the Four Display Mounting Bolts

Use the correct Allen key to loosen the four mounting bolts.

The official arwibon q30 scooter video shows this beginning at about 01:14.

Remove the bolts one at a time.

Keep them together for reinstallation.

Once all four bolts are removed, the display can separate from the mounting bracket.

The official video shows the display released from the bracket at about 01:28.

Do not pull the display completely away yet because its wiring is still connected.

Step 4: Find the Wrapped Connector Section

Follow the cable from the back of the main display into the handlebar wire bundle.

Locate the section covered with black electrical insulation tape.

The display connector is inside this wrapped area.

Step 5: Carefully Cut the Insulation Tape

Use scissors or a utility knife to open the outer layer of tape.

The official arwibon q30 video shows this at about 01:35.

Keep the cutting edge away from the wires underneath.

Once the outer layer is opened, peel the remaining tape away by hand.

The video shows the harness being uncovered through about 02:00.

Continue until the individual connectors inside the bundle are visible.

Step 6: Identify the Main Display Connector

Follow the display cable until you reach its matching quick-disconnect plug.

The official q30 scooter video shows the display connector at about 02:58.

Check the connector body and locking tab before trying to separate it.

Do not disconnect other plugs unnecessarily.

Step 7: Disconnect the Main Display Plug

Press the locking tab on the connector.

Hold both plastic connector housings and pull them straight apart.

The official arwibon q30 electric scooter video shows this at about 03:03.

Do not pull on the wires themselves.

If the connector does not release easily, check the locking tab again rather than applying more force.

Step 8: Free the Display Cable From the Harness

Once the connector is unplugged, separate the display cable from the other handlebar wiring.

The official video shows the cable being pulled free at about 03:08.

Guide it through the harness carefully.

Do not drag the connector against other small wires or pull it through a tight section by force.

Step 9: Remove the Main Display

With the four mounting bolts removed and the electrical connector disconnected, lift the main display away from the handlebar bracket.

The display assembly is now completely removed from the arwibon q30 scooter.

Keep the display and four mounting bolts together if the same unit will be installed again.

Step 10: Check the Display Connector

Before installing a replacement display, inspect the disconnected plug.

Check for:

  • recessed connector terminals;
  • bent pins;
  • loose wires;
  • broken locking tabs;
  • damaged cable insulation.

The display connector is a known troubleshooting point on the Arwibon Q30, so check that the terminals remain correctly seated inside the housing.

Step 11: Keep the Exposed Harness Protected

If the arwibon q30 electric scooter will remain disassembled for a while, keep the exposed connectors clean and dry.

Do not leave the open handlebar harness where dirt or metal parts can enter the connector openings.

When the display is installed again, the connector area should be wrapped and the spiral wire sleeve returned to its original position.

This procedure follows the official Arwibon Scooter video “Q30 Main Display Removal | Arwibon Q30” and covers removal of the display mounting hardware, spiral wire sleeve, wiring insulation, and main display connector on the arwibon q30 scooter.
