How to Remove the Rear Brake Cable on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter
This tutorial shows how to remove the rear brake inner cable from an arwibon q30 scooter. The process starts at the rear brake caliper, then moves to the brake lever so the cable end can be released and the complete inner cable pulled out of the outer housing.
Tools Needed
Prepare:
- Allen key
- Wire cutters or pliers if the cable end cap needs to be removed
- Protective gloves
If you are only replacing the inner brake cable, keep the outer cable housing in place during removal.
Step 1: Locate the Rear Brake Caliper
Move to the rear wheel and find the brake caliper.

Locate the bolt that clamps the brake inner cable to the caliper arm.
Step 2: Loosen the Brake Cable Fixing Bolt
Use the correct Allen wrench to loosen the cable fixing bolt.

Loosen it enough for the brake inner cable to come free from the clamp.
Do not remove unrelated caliper mounting bolts.
Step 3: Release the Inner Cable
Once the fixing bolt is loose, pull the inner brake cable out of the cable clamp and locating slot.

If there is a cable end cap installed on the wire, remove it first if it prevents the cable from passing through the spring or adjuster.
Wear gloves if the old cable has loose strands.
Step 4: Remove the Spring and Adjuster Hardware
Slide the return or protective spring off the brake inner cable.
Remove the adjuster hardware from the cable path as shown in the original assembly.

Keep these parts together because they will be needed when the replacement cable is installed.
Step 5: Pull the Cable Free at the Rear Caliper
Pull the inner cable out of the rear brake cable outlet.

At this point, the rear end of the brake cable should be completely free from the caliper.
Leave the outer cable housing in its original routing if it is not being replaced.
Step 6: Move to the Brake Lever
Go to the handlebar brake lever connected to the rear brake.

Locate the barrel adjuster and its locking ring at the point where the brake cable enters the lever body.
Step 7: Align the Adjuster Slots
Rotate the barrel adjuster and locking ring until their slots line up with the slot in the brake lever body.

All of the openings need to form one continuous path.
This allows the inner cable to pass sideways out of the lever assembly.
Step 8: Pull the Cable Through the Aligned Slot
Squeeze the brake lever to create enough cable movement.
Guide the inner cable sideways through the aligned slots in the lever, barrel adjuster, and locking ring.

Do not bend the cable sharply while pulling it through the slots.
Step 9: Release the Cable End From the Brake Lever
Look underneath or inside the brake lever.
Locate the cylindrical metal cable end seated in the lever.

Move the cable end out of its retaining slot and release it from the lever.
Once the metal end is free, the inner cable is no longer attached to the brake lever.
Step 10: Pull the Complete Inner Cable Out
Hold the cable at the brake lever end.
Pull the entire steel inner cable out through the outer cable housing.

Pull steadily rather than jerking the cable.
If the cable catches, stop and check the outer housing rather than pulling harder.
Step 11: Inspect the Removed Cable
After removal, check the old cable for:
- broken or frayed strands;
- rust;
- flattened sections;
- heavy bends;
- damaged cable ends.
A badly frayed cable can leave loose wire strands inside the outer housing, so inspect the cable carefully before installing a replacement.
Step 12: Keep the Outer Housing in Position
If only the brake inner cable is being replaced, avoid moving the outer housing from its original route through the arwibon q30 scooter.
Check that the housing ends remain seated in their guides and adjusters.
Keeping the original routing in place makes the new inner cable easier to install.
