How to Install the New Plastic Extended Fender on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter

by LafreniereyoaDoris 03 Sep 2026 0 Comments

This tutorial covers installation of the newer two-bolt plastic rear fender extension on an arwibon q30 scooter. This version mounts underneath the end of the original metal rear fender and uses two bolts, washers, and lock nuts.

Tools and Parts Needed

Prepare:

  • New plastic extended rear fender
  • Two mounting bolts
  • Two metal washers
  • Two lock nuts
  • Allen key
  • Socket wrench or offset socket wrench
  • Protective gloves

Step 1: Check the Fender Extension and Hardware

Take out the new plastic extension and the two sets of mounting hardware.

The official arwibon q30 video shows the parts at about 00:00.

Before installation, make sure you have:

  • two bolts;
  • two washers;
  • two lock nuts;
  • the plastic extension fender.

Step 2: Position the Extension Under the Rear Fender

Place the new plastic extension against the lower edge of the original metal rear fender.

The official q30 scooter video shows this at about 00:03.

Align the two holes in the plastic extension with the two mounting holes in the original rear fender.

The plastic piece should sit flat against the metal fender.

Step 3: Prepare the Two Mounting Bolts

Place a metal washer onto each Allen bolt.

The official arwibon q30 electric scooter video shows this at about 00:01.

Keep both bolt sets ready before fixing the extension in place.

Step 4: Insert the Bolts From the Outside

Hold the plastic extension in position.

Insert each bolt from the outside of the metal rear fender through the aligned mounting holes.

The official video shows this at about 00:04.

Start both bolts before tightening either one.

This keeps the plastic extension from shifting out of position.

Step 5: Install the Lock Nuts From the Inside

Hold the bolt head from the outside with your fingers.

From the inside of the fender, near the rear tire, thread a lock nut onto each bolt.

The official arwibon q30 video shows this from about 00:07 to 00:13.

Start both nuts by hand.

Do not fully tighten the first mounting point while the second one is still loose.

Step 6: Hold the Inner Nut With a Socket Wrench

Place the socket wrench over the lock nut on the inside of the fender.

The official q30 scooter video shows this at about 00:16.

Hold the nut so it cannot rotate.

Be careful when working in the narrow space between the fender and tire.

Step 7: Tighten the Outer Bolt

Use the Allen key on the bolt head from the outside.

The official arwibon q30 electric scooter video shows this at about 00:18.

Tighten the bolt gradually while holding the nut with the socket wrench.

The plastic should pull firmly against the original fender without being crushed around the mounting hole.

Step 8: Tighten the Second Mounting Point

Repeat the same process on the second bolt.

The official video shows both mounting points being secured through about 00:23.

Work between the two bolts until the extension sits evenly against the rear fender.

Do not overtighten one side.

Step 9: Check the Installed Fender Extension

The official arwibon q30 video shows the completed installation at about 00:26.

Check that:

  • both bolts are installed;
  • both lock nuts are secure;
  • the extension sits flat against the metal fender;
  • the plastic is not cracked around the mounting holes;
  • the extension does not move when pushed by hand.

Step 10: Check Rear Tire Clearance

Rotate the rear wheel by hand.

Make sure the tire does not touch the plastic extension, mounting bolts, or nuts.

Also check the extension from behind the q30 scooter to make sure it sits straight rather than leaning to one side.

If there is contact with the tire, stop and correct the mounting position before riding.

Final Check

Before using the arwibon q30 electric scooter, confirm that:

  • both mounting bolts are secure;
  • both lock nuts are fully seated;
  • the plastic extension is not distorted around the bolt holes;
  • the extension sits straight;
  • no hardware contacts the rear tire;
  • the rear wheel can rotate normally.

This procedure follows the official Arwibon Scooter video “Q30 New Plastic Extended Fender Installation | Arwibon Q30” and covers the newer two-bolt rear fender extension shown for the arwibon q30 scooter.
