How to Install the Plastic Extended Rear Fender on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter

by LafreniereyoaDoris 04 Sep 2026 0 Comments

This tutorial covers installation of the plastic rear fender extension on an arwibon q30 scooter. The extension mounts on top of the original rear metal fender and is secured with three bolts, washers, and lock nuts.

Tools and Parts Needed

Prepare:

  • Plastic extended rear fender
  • Three mounting bolts
  • Three metal washers
  • Three lock nuts
  • Allen key
  • Socket wrench or offset socket wrench
  • Protective gloves

Step 1: Check the Fender Extension and Hardware

Take out the plastic extension fender and the three sets of mounting hardware.

The official arwibon q30 video shows the parts at about 00:00.

Before installation, make sure all three bolts, washers, and nuts are available.

Step 2: Position the Plastic Fender Extension

Place the plastic extension on top of the original rear metal fender.

The official q30 scooter video shows this at about 00:07.

Align the three holes in the plastic extension with the three holes at the end of the metal fender.

The extension should sit flat against the metal fender without twisting.

Step 3: Insert the Three Bolts From the Top

Place a washer onto each mounting bolt.

Insert the three bolts downward through the plastic extension and the original metal fender.

The official arwibon q30 electric scooter video shows this at about 00:15.

Start all three bolts before tightening any of them.

This keeps the extension aligned with the original fender.

Step 4: Install the Lower Washers and Lock Nuts

Hold the bolt heads from above.

From underneath the rear fender, install the lower washers and lock nuts onto the three bolts.

The official video shows this from about 00:22 to 00:25.

Thread each nut on by hand first.

Do not fully tighten the first nut while the other two are still loose.

Step 5: Hold the Lower Nut With a Socket Wrench

Position the socket wrench underneath the rear fender.

Hold one of the lock nuts so it cannot rotate.

The official arwibon q30 video shows this at about 00:45.

The space between the tire and fender is limited, so keep your hand and tool clear of the tire while working.

Step 6: Tighten the Upper Bolt

While holding the nut underneath, use the Allen key on the bolt head from above.

The official q30 scooter video shows this at about 00:48.

Tighten the bolt gradually.

The plastic extension should pull down against the metal fender without being crushed around the mounting hole.

Step 7: Tighten the Remaining Two Mounting Points

Repeat the same process for the other two bolts.

The official arwibon q30 electric scooter video shows the remaining hardware being tightened through about 00:54.

Work between the three mounting points so the extension stays flat.

Do not overtighten one side while the others remain loose.

Step 8: Check the Plastic Around the Bolt Holes

After tightening, inspect the three mounting holes.

Make sure:

  • the plastic sits flat against the metal fender;
  • the washers sit evenly;
  • the plastic around the holes is not cracked;
  • no bolt head is pulling excessively into the plastic.

The fasteners need to hold the extension firmly without deforming it.

Step 9: Check Rear Tire Clearance

Spin the rear wheel by hand.

Watch the gap between the tire and the extended fender.

The extension should not contact the tire.

Also check the lower nuts and bolt ends to make sure they do not extend far enough to interfere with the tire.

Step 10: Check the Fender After Suspension Movement

Press down on the rear of the arwibon q30 scooter and let the rear suspension move.

Watch the clearance between the tire and the fender extension.

The tire should remain clear as the suspension moves.

If there is contact, stop and check the fender position before riding.

Final Check

Before using the arwibon q30 electric scooter, confirm that:

  • all three bolts are installed;
  • all three lower nuts are secure;
  • the extension sits flat on the original rear fender;
  • the plastic around the holes is not damaged;
  • the extension does not move by hand;
  • the rear tire does not contact the extension.

This procedure follows the official Arwibon Scooter video “Q30 Plastic Extended Fender Installation | Arwibon Q30” and covers the three-point mounting process shown for the arwibon q30 scooter.
