How to Install the Key Lock on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter
This tutorial covers installation and wiring of the key lock assembly on an Arwibon Q30 scooter. The key lock mounts on the inner section of the right handlebar, ahead of the right brake lever and grip. The procedure includes positioning the handlebar parts, connecting the key lock plug, wrapping the harness, reinstalling the spiral sleeve, and checking the voltage display after power-on.
Tools and Parts Needed
Prepare:
- Arwibon Q30 key lock assembly with voltage display and connector
- Allen key or hex driver
- Black electrical tape
- Black spiral cable sleeve
- Protective gloves
Step 1: Slide the Key Lock Onto the Handlebar
Take the new key lock assembly and slide it onto the right end of the handlebar.

Move it inward toward the center of the handlebar.
The key lock should sit on the inner side of the right-hand controls.
Step 2: Install the Right Brake Lever
Slide the right brake lever onto the handlebar after the key lock.

Position the brake lever outside the key lock assembly.
Do not fully tighten the clamp yet if you still need to adjust the position of the controls.
Step 3: Install the Right Handlebar Grip
Push the rubber grip onto the outer end of the right handlebar.

Push it fully into position.
The right-side component order should now be:
- key lock on the inside;
- right brake lever in the middle;
- rubber grip on the outside.
Step 4: Set the Right Brake Lever Position
Adjust the right brake lever to a comfortable working angle.

Use the Allen key to secure the clamp.
Check that the lever can move freely without contacting the key lock or grip.
Step 5: Adjust the Key Lock Angle
Rotate the key lock assembly so the voltage display faces the rider.

Set the angle before tightening the key lock clamp.
Step 6: Tighten the Key Lock Clamp
Use the hex tool on the key lock mounting bolt.

Check by hand that the key lock does not rotate around the handlebar.
Step 7: Locate the Key Lock Connector
Follow the wire coming from the new key lock.

Step 8: Connect the Key Lock Plug
Align the locating features on the two connector halves.
Push them together until fully seated.

Do not force the plug if the connector shape or locking feature is not aligned correctly.
Step 9: Check the Connector
Before wrapping the harness, check that:
- the connector is fully seated;
- the locking section has engaged;
- no terminal appears pushed backward;
- the wires are not under tension.
Hold the connector by the plastic housing rather than pulling the thin wires.
Step 10: Wrap the Connector Area
Use black electrical tape around the connected harness.

Start near the connector section and work along the wire bundle.
Step 11: Bring the Handlebar Wiring Together
Gather the key lock wiring with the nearby brake cutoff wiring, display wiring, and other handlebar cables.

Arrange the wiring so the connectors sit together without sharp bends.
Step 12: Continue Wrapping the Harness
Continue wrapping the main bundle with electrical tape.

Keep the harness together, but do not stretch the wires tightly.
Step 13: Reinstall the Spiral Cable Sleeve
Take the black spiral protective sleeve.

Wrap the sleeve around the right-side control wiring and work toward the center of the handlebar.
Step 14: Continue the Sleeve Along the Main Harness
Continue rotating the spiral sleeve around the wiring bundle.

Step 15: Check Steering Cable Slack
Before testing the key lock, turn the handlebar fully left and fully right.
Watch the key lock wire and the rest of the harness.
The wiring should move naturally without pulling against the connector.
If the harness becomes tight at either steering limit, open the sleeve and give the wiring more slack.
Step 16: Power On the Scooter
Insert the key into the new key lock.
Turn the key clockwise to switch on the Arwibon Q30.

Check that the voltage display lights normally and that the scooter powers up.

Before riding the Arwibon Q30 scooter, confirm that:
- the key lock is mounted on the inner side of the right handlebar;
- the right brake lever sits outside the key lock;

- the wiring is wrapped and protected;
