How to Install the Battery Cover on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter
This tutorial covers installation of the battery compartment cover on an Arwibon Q30 scooter after work on the battery, controller, charging ports, motor wiring, or other components inside the deck.
The cover uses 12 countersunk Allen bolts, with six mounting points on each side. Before tightening the cover, check the wiring carefully so no cable or connector is trapped between the metal cover and the deck frame.
Tools and Parts Needed
Prepare:
- Arwibon Q30 battery compartment cover
- 12 countersunk Allen bolts
- Allen key
- Protective gloves
Step 1: Check the Battery Compartment Before Closing It
Before placing the cover on the scooter, inspect everything inside the deck.
Make sure the battery, controller, connectors, and wiring are back in their intended positions.
Check that:
- the battery is secured inside the compartment;
- the XT60 connector is fully connected if the repair is complete;
- Hall, charging, lighting, and other connectors are seated;
- loose wiring is arranged beside the battery and controller;
- no connector is sitting above a cover mounting hole;
- no cable crosses the metal edge where the cover will sit.
Do not install the cover until the wiring is clear of the mounting surface.
Step 2: Place the Battery Cover on the Deck
Hold the metal battery cover with both hands and lower it onto the deck.

Move the cover slightly forward, backward, left, or right until its mounting holes line up with the threaded holes in the deck frame.

If a bolt does not thread normally, stop and realign the cover.
Do not force a bolt into the frame at an angle.
Step 6: Confirm All 12 Bolts Have Started Correctly
Before tightening the cover, count the bolts again.
All 12 should be engaged in their threads.
This is important because fully tightening one section too early can shift the cover and make the remaining holes difficult to align.
If one bolt will not start, loosen nearby bolts slightly and reposition the cover.
Step 7: Begin Tightening in a Cross Pattern
Once all bolts are started, begin tightening them gradually.

Start with mounting points spaced apart around the cover rather than tightening every bolt on one side first.
For example, work between opposite corners and middle mounting points.
Only partially tighten each bolt during this first pass.
Step 8: Tighten the Left and Right Sides Gradually
Continue around the deck.
The official video shows the left- and right-side bolts being tightened at about 00:45.
Move back and forth between both sides.
Watch the cover as it settles against the deck frame.
It should lower evenly instead of being pulled down heavily on one side.
Step 9: Make a Second Tightening Pass
After the cover is seated, go around all 12 bolts again.
The official Arwibon Q30 video shows the final tightening pass at about 01:05.
Check every mounting point rather than assuming the earlier bolts are still fully seated after the rest of the cover has been tightened.
No specific tightening torque is provided in the supplied procedure, so do not use a guessed torque value.
Step 10: Check the Cover Edge and Seal
The official video shows the cover fully seated at about 01:11.
Look around the complete edge of the battery cover.
The cover should sit evenly against the deck with no obvious raised section.
If the scooter uses a sealing strip around the compartment, check that it remains correctly positioned and is not folded, pushed out, or trapped incorrectly.
Even tightening around the cover is important for maintaining the intended deck sealing.
Step 11: Check the Countersunk Bolt Heads
Look at all 12 bolt heads after tightening.
The countersunk bolts should sit correctly in their recessed mounting positions.
A bolt that remains unusually high may indicate:
- the bolt is not fully seated;
- the cover hole is misaligned;
- the thread was started incorrectly;
- debris is underneath the bolt head.
Do not simply apply more force without checking the cause.
Step 12: Check the Wiring One More Time
Inspect any visible wiring entering or leaving the deck.
Make sure nothing was pulled tight while the cover was installed.
Pay particular attention to wiring near the front and rear frame openings.
No electrical wire should be caught between the metal battery cover and the deck frame.
Final Check
Before riding the Arwibon Q30 scooter, confirm that:
- all 12 battery-cover bolts are installed;
