How to Open the Battery Compartment Cover on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter
This tutorial covers removal of the deck battery compartment cover on an Arwibon Q30 scooter. The cover is secured by 12 countersunk Allen bolts, with six on each side. Some bolt heads may be hidden under the anti-slip deck surface, so those areas need to be opened before the bolts can be removed.
Tools Needed
Prepare:
- Allen key
- Utility knife or small craft knife
- Flat-head screwdriver or plastic pry tool
- Protective gloves
Step 1: Locate the 12 Deck Cover Bolts
Check both sides of the deck.
The official Arwibon Q30 video shows that the battery cover uses 12 mounting points in total, with six bolts on each side, at about 01:21.
Before prying on the cover, make sure every mounting point has been located.
Step 2: Open the Anti-Slip Surface Over a Hidden Bolt
Some bolt heads are covered by the deck’s anti-slip material.

Use the tip of a utility knife to carefully cut a small opening around the recessed bolt position.
Only open enough material to access the Allen bolt.
Avoid cutting farther into the surrounding deck surface than necessary.
Step 3: Remove the First Bolt
Once the bolt head is exposed, insert the Allen key fully into the socket.

Turn the bolt counterclockwise and remove it completely.
Keep the removed hardware together.
Step 4: Continue Along the Right Side
Work along the right edge of the deck.

Do not begin lifting the cover while bolts remain installed.
Step 5: Remove the Six Bolts on the Left Side
Move to the opposite side of the deck.

Open the anti-slip material over any hidden mounting points and remove all six left-side bolts.
Keep count as you work.
Step 6: Confirm All 12 Bolts Are Removed

Before using a pry tool, count the hardware.
You should have 12 cover bolts in total.
If the cover still feels firmly fixed in one particular area, check again for a missed bolt before applying more force.
Step 7: Start Opening the Cover Edge
The battery cover may remain stuck to the deck because of the sealing material around its edge.
The official video shows a flat tool being used at about 01:28.
Insert a flat-head screwdriver or plastic pry tool gently into the seam.
Use only enough pressure to create a small gap.
Do not drive the tool deeply into the deck compartment.
A plastic pry tool is preferable where practical because it is less likely to damage the cover edge.
Step 8: Work Along the Edge
Once a small gap has opened, move along the edge gradually.
Do not force one corner upward while the rest of the cover is still bonded down.
Separate the cover from the sealing surface little by little.
This reduces the chance of bending the metal cover.
Step 9: Lift the Battery Cover by Hand
Once the seal has released enough, stop using the pry tool.
Lift the cover by hand.

Support the panel as you lift it so it does not drop back onto the deck.
Step 10: Remove the Cover Completely
Lift the metal cover away from the scooter.

At about 01:48, the battery, controller, and internal wiring are visible inside the deck compartment.
The battery compartment is now open.
Step 11: Disconnect the Main Battery Power Before Electrical Work
If you only needed to open the cover for inspection, you can stop here.
If you are going to remove, disconnect, or repair any electrical component inside the deck, locate the yellow XT60 main battery connector and disconnect it first.
Hold both connector housings and pull them apart.
Do not pull directly on the wires.
Step 12: Protect the Open Battery Compartment
While the deck is open:
- keep loose screws and metal tools away from exposed electrical connections;
- do not place tools on top of the battery;
- keep water and debris out of the compartment;

After opening the battery compartment, confirm that:
