How to Correct the Key Lock Connector Terminals on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter

by LafreniereyoaDoris 02 Sep 2026 0 Comments

This tutorial covers terminal repositioning between the 4-pin and 5-pin black connectors used in the Arwibon Q30 key lock wiring. The procedure shown in the supplied video moves the white and purple terminals from the 5-pin connector to the 4-pin connector, then moves the red and green terminals in the opposite direction.

Before working on connector terminals, switch the scooter off and disconnect the main battery power.

Tools Needed

Prepare:

  • Precision flat-head screwdriver
  • Terminal removal tool or thin probe
  • Protective gloves

Take a clear photo of both connectors before removing any terminals. The original wire positions should be recorded before you start.

Step 1: Identify the Two Connectors

Locate the two black connectors at the end of the wiring harness.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows them at about 00:00.

For this procedure:

  • Connector A is the 4-pin connector.
  • Connector B is the 5-pin connector.

The supplied video shows green, black, and red wires in Connector A, while Connector B contains yellow, white, blue, purple, and other wiring.

Keep both connectors in the same orientation while working so the terminal positions are not confused.

Step 2: Locate the Purple Wire in Connector B

Find the purple wire in the 5-pin Connector B.

The official video shows the purple wire at about 00:08.

Before removing it, note which cavity it currently occupies.

Step 3: Release the Purple Terminal

Insert the precision screwdriver or terminal tool into the front of the connector.

The official video shows this at about 00:10.

Gently release the small locking tab that holds the metal terminal inside the plastic housing.

Do not force the screwdriver deeply into the connector.

Step 4: Pull Out the Purple Wire Terminal

While the locking tab is released, gently pull the purple wire from the rear of the connector.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows the terminal coming out at about 00:26.

Pull on the wire only lightly.

If the terminal does not move, release the locking tab again rather than pulling harder.

Step 5: Remove the White Wire From Connector B

Locate the white wire in Connector B.

The official video shows it at about 00:30.

Use the same terminal-release method.

The locking tab is released at about 00:32, and the white terminal is shown completely removed at about 00:48.

Keep the white and purple terminals separate so they are not mixed up.

Step 6: Check the Terminal Locking Tabs

Inspect the metal terminals that were removed.

The official video shows this at about 01:03.

Each terminal has a small retaining tang or locking tab that catches inside the connector housing.

If the tab was flattened during removal, it may not lock when the terminal is inserted into its new position.

Step 7: Raise the Terminal Retaining Tabs Slightly

Use the small screwdriver to gently lift the metal retaining tang on each removed terminal.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows this at about 01:07.

Only raise it slightly.

Do not bend the tab excessively or break it away from the terminal.

Step 8: Insert the White Wire Into Connector A

Take the white wire terminal and position it at the designated empty cavity in the 4-pin Connector A.

The official video shows the white wire being inserted at about 01:13.

Push the terminal straight into the connector housing.

The video shows it locking into position at about 01:18.

Do not force the terminal if its orientation is incorrect.

Step 9: Insert the Purple Wire Into Connector A

Insert the purple wire terminal into the other empty position shown in Connector A.

The official Arwibon Q30 scooter video shows this at about 01:21.

Push it in until the retaining tab catches.

The video shows the terminal seated at about 01:24.

Step 10: Check the White and Purple Terminals

Gently pull on the white wire.

Then pull lightly on the purple wire.

Neither terminal should slide back out of Connector A.

If one moves, remove it again and check the retaining tang before continuing.

Step 11: Remove the Red Wire From Connector A

Locate the red wire in Connector A.

The official video shows the next terminal-removal stage beginning at about 01:38.

Use the precision screwdriver or terminal tool to release the connector locking tab.

Pull the red terminal out carefully.

Step 12: Remove the Green Wire From Connector A

Repeat the same procedure with the green wire.

Release the locking tab first, then withdraw the metal terminal from the connector housing.

Keep track of the red and green terminals separately.

Step 13: Check the Red and Green Terminal Tabs

Inspect the locking tangs on the red and green terminals.

If needed, raise them slightly in the same way used for the white and purple wires.

The terminals need to lock when inserted into Connector B.

Step 14: Insert the Red and Green Wires Into Connector B

Move the red and green terminals into the corresponding open positions in the 5-pin Connector B.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows this stage at about 01:45.

Insert each terminal in the same orientation shown in the supplied procedure.

Push each one in until it locks.

Because the exact cavity positions are critical, follow the connector orientation and terminal locations shown in the video rather than selecting positions by wire color alone.

Step 15: Pull-Test Every Repositioned Wire

After all four terminals have been moved, gently pull each wire from the rear of its connector.

The official video shows this check at about 02:00.

Check:

  • white wire;
  • purple wire;
  • red wire;
  • green wire.

None of the terminals should slide backward out of the connector housing.

Step 16: Inspect the Connector Faces

Look at the front of both connectors.

The metal terminals should sit at similar depths inside their cavities.

A terminal sitting farther back than the others may not make proper contact when the connectors are joined.

If one terminal is recessed, remove and reinstall it before reconnecting the harness.

Step 17: Reconnect and Test the Key Lock

Once the terminal positions match the arrangement shown in the supplied video, reconnect the two harness sections.

Restore battery power only after the wiring has been checked.

Turn the key and check whether:

  • the key lock responds normally;
  • the voltage display lights;
  • the scooter powers on normally.

If the scooter still does not power on, disconnect power again before performing further wiring checks.

Final Check

Before returning the Arwibon Q30 to normal use, confirm that:

  • the white and purple terminals were moved from Connector B to the positions shown in Connector A;
  • the red and green terminals were moved from Connector A to the positions shown in Connector B;
  • all four retaining tangs lock correctly;
  • no terminal backs out when lightly pulled;
  • no terminal is recessed inside the connector housing;
  • the connector positions match the supplied video;
  • the key lock and voltage display operate normally after reconnection.

This procedure follows the official Arwibon Scooter video “Q30 Key Lock Terminal Correction | Arwibon Q30” and covers the terminal removal, retaining-tab adjustment, wire repositioning, and final connector check shown for the Arwibon Q30 scooter.
