Arwibon Q06Pro Hydraulic Brake Lever and Hose Replacement Guide
If the hydraulic brake lever on your arwibon Q06pro is broken, leaking, no longer triggering the brake-cutoff signal, or the hydraulic hose is damaged or kinked, the complete brake lever and hose assembly can be replaced.
This guide follows the Q06Pro service procedure from handlebar disassembly through hose routing, caliper reconnection, brake-cutoff wiring, caliper alignment, and final reassembly.
Tools and Materials Needed
- 3 mm, 4 mm, and 5 mm Allen wrenches
- T-handle Allen wrench
- 8 mm or 10 mm open-end wrench
- Thick clean cloth or absorbent shop towel
- Electrical tape
- Stable repair stand or support blocks
- Protective gloves
Remove the Handlebar Components
Step 1: Remove the Rubber Grip
Start on the side where the brake lever will be replaced.
Hold the rubber handlebar grip and twist it slightly while pulling outward.
Work it off gradually rather than pulling hard in one direction.
The grip must be removed so the switch assembly and brake lever can slide off the handlebar tube.
Step 2: Loosen the Handlebar Switch
Locate the clamp screw on the headlight/turn-signal switch assembly.
Loosen the screw with the correct Allen wrench.
Slide the switch outward slightly.
There is no need to remove it completely if enough space is available for the brake lever to pass.
Step 3: Loosen the Brake Lever Clamp
Locate the clamp bolt underneath the hydraulic brake lever.
Loosen it until the brake lever assembly can slide along the handlebar.
Do not force the lever off while the clamp is still tight.
Open the Front Harness
Step 4: Remove the Spiral Cable Wrap
Follow the brake hose and brake-cutoff wire downward along the stem.
Unwind the black spiral protective sleeve by hand.
Remove or peel back the electrical tape around the folding section where necessary.
Expose enough of the harness to separate the brake hose and electrical wire from the other cables.
Do not cut into the wiring insulation while removing tape.
Open the Deck
Step 5: Remove the Deck Cover
Remove the fasteners around the transparent acrylic deck cover.
Lift the cover slowly.
The illuminated deck panel is still connected by two small electrical plugs underneath.
Disconnect the two deck-light connectors before moving the cover completely away from the scooter.
Place the cover somewhere safe.
Trace the Hydraulic Brake Hose
Step 6: Locate the Hose Inside the Deck
Follow the hydraulic brake hose from the stem into the deck compartment.
Identify its route through the side channel and toward the corresponding wheel.
Before pulling the old hose out, note the original path.
The replacement hose should follow the same route without crossing sharp edges, controller mounts, or deck-cover bolt holes.
Remove the Brake Caliper
Step 7: Remove the Two Caliper Mounting Bolts
Use the Allen wrench to remove the two bolts holding the red hydraulic caliper to its bracket.
Support the caliper after the bolts are removed.
Do not allow the caliper to hang from the hydraulic hose.
Step 8: Position the Caliper to Limit Fluid Loss
Turn the caliper so its hose inlet is facing upward.
Wrap the caliper and hose fitting with a thick absorbent cloth.
This is important because mineral brake fluid may escape when the hose fitting is opened.
Keep the brake rotor and pads completely away from spilled fluid.
Disconnect the Old Hydraulic Hose
Step 9: Loosen the Hose Fitting
Hold the caliper securely with the inlet facing upward.
Use the small open-end wrench to loosen the metal hose fitting.
Remove it carefully and separate the hose from the caliper.
Use the cloth immediately if any fluid appears around the connection.
Do not allow mineral oil to reach the brake rotor or pads.
Remove the Old Hose and Brake Lever
Step 10: Pull the Hose Back Through the Frame
Follow the hose route from the rear section toward the deck and front stem.
Pull the hose out gradually.
Do not jerk it through the frame because it may catch on electrical connectors or other cables.
At the front of the scooter, guide the hose upward through the stem harness until it is completely free.
Step 11: Disconnect the Brake-Cutoff Connector
Follow the small electrical wire coming from the brake lever.
Locate the black 2-pin brake-cutoff connector.
Press its locking tab and separate the two connector housings.
Hold the plastic housings rather than pulling on the wires.
The old brake lever, hose, and cutoff wire can now be removed from the Arwibon Q06Pro.
Prepare the New Brake Lever and Hose
Step 12: Separate the New Hose From the Caliper if Required
Take the replacement brake lever and hydraulic hose assembly.
If the new hose must be routed through the stem and deck, disconnect it from the caliper end following the same method used during removal.
Keep the caliper inlet upright and wrapped with a clean cloth.
Do not contaminate the open hose end.
Route the New Hydraulic Hose
Step 13: Feed the Hose Down Through the Stem
Insert the hose into the opening at the upper section of the stem.
Feed it downward through the stem toward the folding mechanism.
Guide it through the lower opening and into the deck compartment.
Do not force the hose through a tight opening.
If it stops, pull it back slightly and correct the angle.
Step 14: Route the Hose Through the Deck
Follow the original path through the deck side channel.
Continue toward the wheel and caliper position.
Keep the hose free from:
- Sharp metal edges
- Battery corners
- Controller housings
- Folding joints
- Suspension movement
- Deck mounting holes
The hose should lie naturally without being twisted or sharply folded.
Reconnect the Hose to the Caliper
Step 15: Insert the Hydraulic Hose
Keep the caliper inlet facing upward.
Insert the new hose end into the caliper fitting as shown in the original procedure.
Make sure it is seated straight.
Step 16: Tighten the Hose Fitting
Thread the metal fitting into the caliper carefully.
Start it by hand where possible to avoid cross-threading.
Use the open-end wrench to tighten the fitting securely.
No factory torque value is supplied in this procedure, so do not use an estimated torque.
After tightening, wipe the connection clean.
Then check for fresh fluid appearing around the fitting.
Reinstall the Caliper
Step 17: Position the Caliper Over the Rotor
Place the caliper back over the brake rotor.
Insert the two mounting bolts and thread them in a few turns.
Leave enough movement for the caliper to be aligned.
Align the Brake Caliper
The supplied service procedure checks rotor clearance while adjusting the caliper.
For safer workshop handling, spin the wheel by hand, stop it, make a small adjustment, and spin it again. Do not keep a wrench against the caliper bolts while the wheel is rotating quickly.
Step 18: Make the Initial Caliper Adjustment
Spin the wheel by hand and listen for rotor contact.
Move the caliper slightly until the rotor sits between the pads with minimal rubbing.
Tighten the upper and lower mounting bolts a little at a time.
Step 19: Alternate Between Both Bolts
Tighten the upper bolt slightly.
Then tighten the lower bolt.
Spin the wheel again.
Repeat until both bolts are secure and the wheel rotates without persistent scraping.
If the rotor rubs once during every wheel revolution, inspect the rotor for side-to-side runout rather than continually shifting the caliper.
Install the New Brake Lever
Step 20: Slide the Brake Lever Onto the Handlebar
Slide the new brake lever clamp onto the handlebar tube.
Position it where it can be reached comfortably.
Do not fully tighten the clamp yet.
Step 21: Reinstall the Control Switch
Slide the headlight/turn-signal switch back into position beside the brake lever.
Arrange the lever and switch so neither interferes with the other.
Connect the Brake-Cutoff Plug
Step 22: Reconnect the 2-Pin Connector
Locate the black 2-pin connector from the new brake lever.
Match it to the corresponding connector in the scooter harness.
Align the keyed shape and locking tab, then push the two halves together until the latch engages.
Do not force the plug if the housings are not aligned.
Adjust and Tighten the Brake Lever
Step 23: Set the Lever Angle
Sit or stand in the normal riding position and place your hand on the grip.
Rotate the brake lever to a comfortable angle.
The wrist should not need to bend sharply to reach the lever.
Step 24: Tighten the Lever Clamp
Hold the lever in position and tighten the clamp bolt.
The lever should no longer rotate around the handlebar under normal hand pressure.
Do not overtighten the clamp if no factory torque value is available.
Step 25: Tighten the Control Switch
Move the switch assembly into its original position.
Tighten its clamp screw.
Check that the buttons remain easy to reach.
Rewrap the Stem Harness
Step 26: Arrange the Hose and Electrical Wires
Lay the brake hose alongside the other front harness cables.
Make sure the hose is not twisted.
Keep it clear of the folding mechanism and any sharp edges.
Step 27: Reinstall the Spiral Sleeve
Wrap the black spiral protective sleeve around the combined harness.
Work gradually down the stem.
Secure the lower section with electrical tape where shown in the original procedure.
Do not make the bundle excessively tight.
Check Steering Cable Slack
Step 28: Turn the Handlebar Fully Left and Right
Turn the handlebar fully to the left.
Watch the new hydraulic hose and cutoff wire.
Then turn fully to the right.
Neither should become tight at either steering limit.
Also operate the folding mechanism carefully and check that the hose is not being stretched or pinched.
Reconnect the Deck Lights
Step 29: Connect the Two Deck-Light Plugs
Bring the acrylic deck cover back to the scooter.
Reconnect the two lighting connectors underneath it.
Check that the plugs are fully seated.
Arrange the wiring inside the deck before lowering the cover.
Reinstall the Deck Cover
Step 30: Close the Deck
Lower the deck cover into position.
Check around the entire perimeter for trapped wiring or the new brake hose.
Install the deck fasteners and tighten them progressively.
The hose should not sit under a bolt or between the cover and frame.
Reinstall the Rubber Grip
Step 31: Push the Grip Back Onto the Handlebar
Align the rubber grip with the handlebar tube.
Push it inward while twisting slightly.
Seat it against the switch assembly without leaving a large gap.
Check that the grip cannot rotate freely.
Check the Hydraulic Brake Pressure
Because this repair opens the hydraulic circuit, the brake must be checked carefully before riding.
Squeeze and release the new lever several times.
The lever should develop consistent hydraulic resistance.
If the lever feels soft, spongy, or can be pulled close to the grip, the system may contain air and should be bled using the correct procedure before the scooter is ridden.
Simply tightening the lever adjuster will not remove air from an opened hydraulic line.
Check for Hydraulic Leaks
Clean the caliper hose connection and leave it dry.
Apply the brake lever firmly several times.
Inspect the fitting again.
There should be no new fluid around:
- The caliper inlet
- Hose fitting
- Brake lever reservoir
- Hose body
If any fresh mineral oil appears, stop and correct the connection before riding.
Check Brake-Cutoff Operation
Power on the Arwibon Q06pro.
With the driven wheel safely raised, apply a small amount of throttle.
Then lightly pull the replaced brake lever.
The motor cutoff should respond as intended on the configuration shown in the procedure.
Do not perform this test with the driven wheel on the ground.
Final Brake Test
Spin the corresponding wheel by hand.
Apply the brake.
The wheel should stop.
Release the lever and spin it again.
Check that:
- The wheel releases normally
- The rotor does not rub heavily
- The lever returns normally
- Hydraulic pressure remains firm
- No oil leaks are visible
- The brake-cutoff connector works
- The hose remains free at full steering lock
Complete these checks before road testing.

Keep Mineral Oil Away From the Rotor and Pads
The most important contamination risk during this repair is hydraulic fluid reaching the braking surfaces.
Do not touch the brake rotor or pads with oily gloves.
If mineral oil contacts the rotor, clean the rotor with a suitable brake cleaner or isopropyl alcohol before testing.
If the pads absorb oil, replacement may be required because cleaning may not restore normal braking performance.
Opening the Hydraulic Line May Require Bleeding
Disconnecting a hydraulic hose can allow air into the system.
Even if little fluid is lost, test the lever carefully after reassembly.
A firm lever does not need additional adjustment merely because the hose was disconnected, but a soft or inconsistent lever should be bled before riding.
Do not rely on a quick fluid top-up if significant air has entered the hose.
