How to Adjust the Front Brake Caliper on an Arwibon Q06Pro Electric Scooter

If the front wheel on your Arwibon Q06pro makes a light scraping sound, squeals while rolling, or stops too quickly when spun by hand, the brake rotor may be rubbing against one of the brake pads.

This guide follows the front hydraulic brake adjustment procedure for the Arwibon Q06 Pro electric scooter. The caliper is loosened slightly, centered over the rotor by holding the front brake lever, then tightened again and retested.

Tools Needed

  • 4 mm or 5 mm Allen wrench
  • Flashlight, optional
  • Protective gloves

Step 1: Raise the Front Wheel

Support the front of the scooter so the front wheel is completely off the ground.

Spin the wheel by hand.

Listen for a scraping or metallic rubbing sound and watch how freely the wheel rotates.

If the wheel slows down quickly or you hear regular contact between the rotor and pads, the front caliper may need to be repositioned.

Step 2: Locate the Two Front Caliper Bolts

Find the red hydraulic brake caliper on the left side of the front wheel.

There are two main Allen mounting bolts, one above the other.

These bolts hold the caliper to its mounting bracket.

Step 3: Loosen the Caliper Bolts Slightly

Use the Allen wrench to loosen the upper mounting bolt about one or two turns.

Then loosen the lower bolt by roughly the same amount.

Do not remove either bolt.

You only need enough movement for the caliper body to shift slightly from side to side on its bracket.

Step 4: Check the Rotor Position

Move the caliper gently by hand.

Look down through the caliper and check the position of the brake rotor between the two pads.

The rotor should sit approximately in the center of the pad gap.

A flashlight can make the clearance easier to see.

This is only the initial alignment. The next step uses the hydraulic brake pressure to center the caliper more precisely.

Step 5: Hold the Front Brake Lever

Move to the left side of the handlebar and squeeze the front brake lever firmly.

Keep the lever held.

With the caliper mounting bolts still slightly loose, the brake pads clamp the rotor and pull the caliper into alignment around the disc.

Do not release the brake lever while beginning to tighten the caliper bolts.

Step 6: Tighten the Lower Caliper Bolt

While keeping the front brake applied, tighten the lower mounting bolt slightly.

Do not fully tighten it in one pass.

The purpose at this stage is to hold the caliper position without pulling it sideways.

Step 7: Tighten the Upper Caliper Bolt

Still holding the brake lever, tighten the upper bolt.

Then alternate between the upper and lower bolts until both are secure.

Alternating the two fasteners reduces the chance of shifting the caliper while it is being tightened.

No factory torque value is supplied in this procedure, so do not substitute an estimated specification.

Step 8: Release the Brake and Spin the Wheel

Release the front brake lever.

Spin the front wheel again by hand.

Listen for rubbing and watch how freely the wheel rotates.

If the scraping has disappeared and the wheel turns normally, the adjustment is complete.

If a small amount of rubbing remains, repeat the process:

  1. Loosen both caliper bolts slightly.
  2. Hold the front brake lever.
  3. Tighten the bolts alternately.
  4. Release the lever.
  5. Spin the wheel again.

Step 9: Check for Intermittent Rotor Rub

Pay attention to whether the scraping is constant or only appears once during each wheel revolution.

If the rotor rubs at one particular point every time the wheel turns, the problem may not be caliper alignment.

A rotor with lateral runout can move toward one brake pad once per revolution.

In that case, inspect the rotor for visible side-to-side movement.

The caliper should not be repeatedly repositioned to compensate for a damaged or bent disc.

Step 10: Test the Front Brake

After the wheel spins without obvious rubbing, squeeze the front brake lever several times.

Check that the brake applies normally and the lever returns smoothly.

Then spin the wheel and apply the brake while the front wheel remains off the ground.

The wheel should stop when the brake is applied and release normally afterward.

Important Adjustment Notes

Do not completely remove the caliper mounting bolts during this procedure. They only need to be loose enough for the caliper to move slightly.

Keep oil, grease, and dirty tools away from the brake rotor and pads. Contamination can create noise and reduce braking performance.

If you need both hands at the caliper, the front brake lever can be held in the applied position with a suitable strap or hook-and-loop tie. Do not use anything that damages the lever or grip.

If repeated centering does not remove a once-per-revolution scraping sound, inspect the rotor instead of continuing to tighten and loosen the caliper.
