Arwibon Q06Pro Brake Sensor and Brake Light Adjustment Guide
If the brake lever on your Arwibon Q06pro does not trigger the brake-cutoff symbol on the main display, the brake light does not illuminate, or the motor does not cut power when the lever is pulled, the brake sensing position may need adjustment.
This guide follows the official Q06pro brake sensing adjustment procedure and covers two methods: adjusting the brake lever thumb screw and repositioning the sensor under the brake lever.
Tools Needed
- Small flat screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, or small Allen screwdriver
- Protective gloves
Check the Fault First
Turn on the Arwibon Q06Pro and leave the scooter stationary.
Pull the brake lever and watch the main display.
If the brake-cutoff symbol does not appear, check the rear brake light as well.
A sensing problem is indicated when:
- The display does not show the brake-cutoff icon
- The rear brake light does not respond
- The motor-cutoff function is not triggered when the brake is applied
Before adjusting the sensor, make sure the brake lever itself moves normally and is not physically damaged.
Method 1: Adjust the Brake Lever Thumb Screw
Step 1: Locate the Reach Adjustment Screw
Find the knurled hand-adjustment screw near the base of the brake lever.
This is the same lever adjustment used to change the brake lever position.
Step 2: Turn the Screw Counterclockwise
Turn the adjuster counterclockwise about one or two turns.
Make a small adjustment rather than backing it out a large amount at once.
While turning the screw, watch the main display.
The purpose is to change the brake lever position enough for the brake sensor to enter its working range.
Step 3: Watch for the Brake-Cutoff Symbol
Continue adjusting gradually until the brake-cutoff symbol appears when the lever is pulled.
The official Q06Pro procedure shows the red brake-cutoff indicator appearing on the main display after the adjustment reaches the correct position.
Step 4: Check the Rear Brake Light
Pull the brake lever again and look at the rear light.
The brake light should illuminate when the lever is applied.
Release the lever and confirm that the light returns to its normal state.
If the display and brake light now respond correctly, no further sensor adjustment may be needed.
Method 2: Adjust the Brake Sensor Position
If the thumb-screw adjustment does not restore the brake signal, adjust the sensor mounted underneath the brake lever.
Step 5: Locate the Two Sensor Screws
Look underneath the brake lever body.
Find the small sensor module and the two screws holding it in position.
These screws only need to be loosened enough for the sensor to move.
Do not remove them completely.
Step 6: Loosen Both Screws Slightly
Use the appropriate small screwdriver or Allen tool.
Turn each screw counterclockwise about one or two turns.
The sensor should now be able to slide slightly.
Keep both screws installed in the lever body.
Move the Sensor Into the Correct Position
Step 7: Push the Sensor Outward Slightly
Use your finger to move the sensor outward a small amount, following the direction shown in the official Q06Pro procedure.
Only a small movement is normally required.
The goal is to reposition the sensor so that a light pull on the brake lever changes the sensing state.
Do not force the sensor or bend its wiring.
Test the Sensor Before Tightening
Step 8: Pull the Brake Lever Lightly
With the sensor still slightly loose, pull the brake lever.
Watch the main display and rear brake light.
At the correct position:
- The brake-cutoff symbol should appear when the lever is applied
- The rear brake light should illuminate
- The signal should disappear again when the lever is released
Adjust the sensor in small increments until this response is repeatable.
Lock the Sensor in Position
Step 9: Tighten the Two Sensor Screws
Hold the sensor in the working position.
Tighten both screws clockwise.
Tighten them only enough to hold the sensor securely.
These are small screws, so excessive force is unnecessary.
Repeat the Brake Test
Step 10: Operate the Lever Several Times
Pull and release the brake lever three to five times.
Check the response on every cycle.
The display and brake light should change consistently with lever movement.
If the signal works once but then becomes intermittent, recheck the sensor position and screw tightness.
Check Motor Cutoff Operation
Step 11: Raise the Driven Wheel Before Testing
If you need to confirm the brake-cutoff function electrically, raise the driven wheel or wheels off the ground.
Turn on the scooter and apply only a small amount of throttle.
Then pull the brake lever.
The motor output should cut as intended on the Q06Pro configuration shown in the procedure.
Do not perform this test with the driven wheel on the ground.

Do Not Back the Lever Adjuster Out Too Far
When using Method 1, keep enough thread engaged in the lever body.
Do not continue unscrewing the adjuster until it becomes loose or nearly comes out.
The adjuster is being used only to change the lever-to-sensor relationship slightly.
Do Not Remove the Sensor Screws Completely
The two sensor screws only need to be loosened enough for the sensor to move.
Removing them completely makes adjustment more difficult and increases the chance of losing the hardware.
Brake Sensor Adjustment Is Not a Hydraulic Brake Repair
This procedure adjusts the electrical sensing position.
It does not repair a hydraulic brake that is soft, leaking, or unable to build pressure.
If the brake lever reaches the grip, feels spongy, or has poor braking force, inspect the hydraulic system separately.
The brake sensor may work correctly even when the hydraulic brake itself still needs service.
If the Sensor Still Does Not Respond
If neither adjustment method restores the signal, inspect the electrical side of the brake-cutoff system.
Check:
- The small brake sensor wiring
- The black 2-pin brake-cutoff connector
- Connector terminals for backing out
- Damaged wiring near the brake lever
- Loose plugs inside the front harness
- The brake sensor module itself
Do not keep moving the sensor farther outward if the electrical circuit is open elsewhere.
