How to Remove the Front Wheel on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter
This tutorial shows how to remove the front wheel from an arwibon q30 scooter. The process is straightforward: lift the front of the scooter, remove the brake caliper, loosen the axle hardware, push the long axle out, and lower the wheel from the fork.
Tools Needed
Prepare:
- Allen key
- Open-end wrench or adjustable wrench
- Suitable rod, large wrench handle, or rubber mallet for helping push the axle out
- Stable stand or support block
Support the scooter securely before starting so the front wheel is completely off the ground.
Step 1: Lift the Front Wheel Off the Ground
Place the arwibon q30 scooter on a stable support.
The official video shows the front wheel raised at about 00:00.
Make sure the scooter cannot tip while you work on the front fork.
Step 2: Remove the Front Brake Caliper
Locate the two Allen bolts holding the front brake caliper to the fork bracket.
Use the correct Allen key to loosen and remove both bolts.
The official q30 electric scooter video shows this at about 00:07.
Once the bolts are out, move the brake caliper away from the brake disc.
The video shows the caliper being moved aside at about 00:19.
You do not need to disconnect the brake cable for this job.
Do not let the caliper hang in a position that pulls hard on the brake cable.
Step 3: Loosen the Front Axle Nut
Move to the outside of the front fork.
Use an open-end wrench or adjustable wrench to loosen the front axle nut.
The official arwibon q30 video shows this beginning at about 00:23.
Turn the nut counterclockwise until it can be removed.
Step 4: Remove the Axle Nut and Washer
Take the axle nut completely off.
Remove the outer washer at the same time.
The official q30 scooter video shows this at about 00:44.
Keep the nut and washer together.
Do not place them where they can be mixed with the brake caliper hardware.
Step 5: Push the Front Axle Inward
The long front axle passes through both fork legs and the wheel hub.
Place a suitable rod, tool handle, or similar support against the end of the axle.
The official video shows this at about 00:48.
Push the axle inward.
If it does not move easily, use light taps to start it moving.
The video shows the axle being pushed out at about 00:54.
Do not strike the exposed axle threads directly with a hard metal hammer.
Damaged threads can make the axle nut difficult or impossible to reinstall later.
Step 6: Pull the Axle Out From the Other Side
Once enough of the axle appears on the opposite side, hold it and pull it outward.
The official arwibon q30 electric scooter video shows the axle being fully removed at about 01:03.
Support the front wheel while doing this.
Once the axle is out, the wheel is no longer held between the fork legs.
Step 7: Lower the Front Wheel Out of the Fork
Hold the front wheel with both hands.
Move it downward and out from between the fork legs.
The official q30 scooter video shows this at about 01:05.
Keep the brake disc clear of the fork and brake caliper while removing the wheel.
Step 8: Collect the Axle Spacers and Washers
Check both sides of the front wheel.
The official video shows the metal bushings or spacers at about 01:06.
Remove them and keep them with the axle.
Do not lose these parts.
Their positions are important when the front wheel is installed again.
Step 9: Keep the Front Wheel Hardware in Order
Keep the removed parts together:
- front axle;
- axle nut;
- washer;
- left-side spacer;
- right-side spacer;
- two brake caliper bolts.
If the two spacers are not identical, keep track of which side each one came from.
Taking a photo before setting the parts aside can make reinstallation easier.
Step 10: Check the Front Wheel Before Reinstallation
Before installing the wheel again, inspect:
- the axle threads;
- both spacers;
- the brake disc;
- the wheel bearings;
- the axle opening in the hub.
If the axle threads were damaged while being pushed out, correct that before reinstalling the front wheel.
This procedure follows the official Arwibon Scooter video “Q30 Front Tire Removal | Arwibon Q30” and covers the front wheel, brake caliper, axle, spacers, and washer removal shown for the arwibon q30 electric scooter.
