How to Remove the Rear Wheel Motor on an Arwibon GT08 Scooter
Removing the rear wheel motor from an arwibon gt08 scooter involves both mechanical disassembly and wiring work. The rear motor is connected to Controller B through three phase wires and a Hall sensor plug, and the motor cable also runs through the rear swingarm into the deck compartment.
Before starting, turn off the scooter. Disconnecting the main battery power plug before working on the controller wiring is recommended.
Step 1: Remove the GT08 Rocker Arm Cover
Start at the rear swingarm.
Use a utility knife or another thin tool to carefully lift the black decorative strip marked “GT08” from the side of the rocker arm.

Once the logo strip is removed, two hidden Allen screws become visible underneath.
Remove both screws with the correct Allen wrench.
The orange plastic rocker arm cover can then be taken off.
This part is shown at about 00:06.
Keep the cover, screws, and GT08 logo strip together so they do not get mixed with the rear axle hardware.
Step 2: Open the Deck Cover
Remove the screws around the deck and lift the deck cover.
This exposes the battery and the two controllers inside the arwibon gt08 scooter.
The official video shows the controller compartment at about 00:12.
According to the video, Controller B is connected to the rear motor.
Before touching the controller terminals, make sure the scooter is powered off. If you are doing a full motor replacement, disconnect the main battery power plug before removing the phase wires.
Step 3: Open the Controller Terminal Cover
Locate the black rubber cover over the motor terminals on Controller B.
Lift the rubber cover away.

The three rear motor phase-wire connections are now visible.
Step 4: Disconnect the Three Motor Phase Wires
The rear motor uses three thick phase wires:
- yellow
- green
- blue
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the three screws holding these wires to the controller terminal block.

Before disconnecting the wires completely, take a clear photo of the original wiring positions.
This gives you a reference when the rear motor is installed again.
Keep the three terminal screws together.
Step 5: Disconnect the Hall Sensor Plug
Locate the white 6-pin Hall sensor connector from the rear motor.
Separate the connector carefully.
The official video shows this at about 00:36.
Hold the plastic connector body when unplugging it.
Do not pull directly on the small Hall wires.
Step 6: Pull the Motor Harness Toward the Rear
Once the phase wires and Hall connector are disconnected, begin pulling the rear motor harness back through the deck.
The official arwibon gt08 scooter tutorial shows this at about 00:44.
Pull the wiring gradually.
Do not force the connector through the frame opening if it gets stuck.
The white Hall connector housing is larger than the opening used for the motor cable, so the terminals need to be removed from the housing before the harness can pass through.
Step 7: Remove the Hall Sensor Pins From the Connector Housing
Use a small flat screwdriver or terminal-release tool to release the metal terminals inside the white Hall connector.
The official video shows this from about 00:51 to 00:58.
Remove the terminals one at a time.
Before doing this, take a clear photo of the original wire positions.
The Hall wiring shown in the supplied material uses:
- red
- black
- yellow
- green
- blue
If the motor will be reused, keep the terminals intact and remove them from the plastic housing rather than cutting the wires.
The video notes that the old motor wires can be cut if the old motor is being discarded.
Step 8: Pull the Motor Cable Through the Frame Opening
After the Hall terminals are out of the plastic housing, guide the loose terminals through the frame opening.
Pull the motor cable toward the rear of the scooter.
Keep the terminals straight while they pass through the opening.
Do not sharply bend or twist the metal pins.
Continue until the motor harness is completely free from the deck compartment.
Step 9: Remove the Motor Cable Zip Ties
Follow the motor cable along the inside of the rear swingarm.
Use scissors or side cutters to cut the nylon zip ties holding the cable in place.

Cut only the zip ties.
Keep the cutting tool away from the motor cable insulation.
Once all of the ties are removed, the motor wire should be free along the rocker arm.
Step 10: Remove the Rear Brake Caliper
Use an Allen wrench to remove the two bolts holding the rear brake caliper to the swingarm bracket.
The official arwibon gt08 electric scooter video shows this from about 01:23 to 01:28.
Move the caliper away from the brake disc.
Do not leave the caliper hanging in a position that pulls hard on the brake cable or hydraulic hose.
The brake caliper has to be clear of the disc before the rear motor wheel can come out.
Step 11: Remove the Rear Axle Nuts
Use an open-end or box wrench to loosen the large axle nut on each side of the rear motor.
The official video shows the axle hardware being removed from about 01:40 to 01:46.
Remove the axle nuts together with the anti-rotation or locating washers.
Keep the left-side and right-side hardware organized.
Support the rear wheel while removing the final axle nut so the wheel does not suddenly drop or shift.
Step 12: Slide the Rear Motor Wheel Out of the Swingarm
Hold the rear wheel with both hands.
Pull the motor axle backward through the open slots in the rear swingarm.
The official arwibon gt08 video shows the motor wheel coming out at about 01:49.
Keep the wheel level while pulling it out.
At the same time, guide the motor cable so it does not catch on the swingarm or frame.
Once both ends of the axle clear the swingarm slots, the rear wheel motor is fully removed.
Step 13: Keep the Wiring and Hardware Organized
If the rear motor will be reinstalled later, keep all removed parts in order.
Record:
- yellow, green, and blue phase-wire positions;
- Hall sensor wire order;
- Hall connector housing;
- left and right axle hardware;
- brake caliper bolts;
- rocker arm cover screws;
- original motor cable routing.
Photos taken before disconnection are especially useful for the phase wires and Hall connector.
Step 14: Check the Rear Motor Before Reinstallation
Before installing the same motor again or fitting a replacement, inspect the motor cable and terminals.
Check that:
- the phase-wire terminals are intact;
- the Hall sensor pins are not bent;
- the wire insulation has not been cut;
- the cable near the motor axle is not damaged;
- the axle threads are in good condition.
If a Hall terminal was damaged while being removed from the connector housing, repair that before reconnecting the motor.
