How to Remove the Rear Brake Disc on an Arwibon GT08 Scooter
This tutorial covers removal of the rear brake disc and rear motor wheel on the arwibon gt08 scooter. The brake caliper comes off first, followed by the axle hardware, rear motor wheel, and finally the 140 mm brake disc.

Step 1: Remove the Rear Brake Caliper
Use the correct Allen wrench to loosen the two bolts holding the rear brake caliper to the swingarm.

Once both bolts are loose, move the caliper away from the brake disc.
At about 00:10, the caliper is clear of the disc and no longer blocks the wheel from sliding out.
Set the caliper aside carefully so it does not hang in a way that pulls on the brake line or cable.
Step 2: Remove the Left Axle Nut and Washer
Move to the left side of the rear motor axle.
Use an open-end or box wrench to loosen the large axle nut.
Turn it counterclockwise and remove it together with the washer.
The official gt08 scooter tutorial shows this at about 00:17.
Keep the nut and washer together so they go back to the same side during reassembly.
Step 3: Remove the Right Axle Nut and Retaining Hardware
Move to the right side of the rear wheel.
Use the wrench to loosen and remove the axle nut on this side as well.

Remove the washer or locating hardware together with the nut.
Do not mix the left-side and right-side axle hardware if the shapes are different.
Step 4: Slide the Rear Motor Wheel Out of the Swingarm
Support the rear wheel with both hands.
Pull the wheel backward along the open slots in the rear swingarm.
The official video shows the rear motor wheel coming out at about 00:44.
Keep the wheel level while removing it.
Do not pull hard on the motor cable while moving the wheel.
The motor wire runs from the rear motor toward the scooter body, so make sure it has enough slack as the wheel is moved away from the swingarm.
At about 00:54, the wheel is placed down for the brake disc removal.
Step 5: Position the Wheel for Brake Disc Removal
Place the rear motor wheel on a stable work surface.
Keep the brake disc side facing upward.
The 140 mm brake disc is fixed to the motor hub with six Allen screws.
Make sure the wheel is stable before loosening them.
Step 6: Loosen the Six Brake Disc Screws
Use a T-handle Allen wrench, standard Allen wrench, or suitable driver.
The official arwibon gt08 tutorial shows the brake disc screws being loosened from about 00:57.
Loosen the screws gradually.
Do not remove one screw completely while the other five remain fully tight.
A better sequence is to move across the disc from one screw to another on the opposite side.
This spreads the release around the disc instead of loading one section.

Step 7: Work Around the Disc in a Cross Pattern
Continue loosening the screws in an alternating pattern.
If one screw feels tight, make sure the Allen tool is fully inserted into the screw head before applying more force.

Do not hold the tool at an angle.
A brake disc screw can be difficult to remove if the tool is not seated properly.
Step 8: Remove All Six Brake Disc Screws
Once the tension is released evenly, remove all six screws completely.
The official video shows the screws coming out by about 01:21.
Keep the screws together in a small container or tray.
Do not let them roll under the workbench or mix with the axle hardware.
Step 9: Remove the 140 mm Brake Disc
Lift the brake disc away from the motor hub.
The official arwibon gt08 scooter video shows the disc being removed at about 01:24.
The motor hub mounting surface is now exposed.
Do not bend the disc while lifting it off.
If you plan to reinstall the same disc, place it flat on a clean surface rather than leaning it against the wheel or floor.
Step 10: Check the Removed Parts
Before moving on to the next repair, check the removed parts and keep them organized.
You should have:
- rear brake caliper mounting bolts;
- left and right axle nuts;
- axle washers or locating hardware;
- six brake disc screws;
- the 140 mm rear brake disc.
Also inspect the rear motor cable and make sure it was not stretched, pinched, or damaged while the wheel was removed.
