How to Install the Large Display on an Arwibon GT08 Scooter

by LafreniereyoaDoris 26 Aug 2026 0 Comments

The large center display on the arwibon gt08 scooter mounts to the bracket in the middle of the handlebar. After the screen is fixed in place, the display connector needs to be secured, wrapped with insulation tape, and then organized together with the rest of the handlebar wiring.

This tutorial follows the official Arwibon GT08 large display installation video.

Step 1: Position the Large Display

Take the large display and the two short mounting screws.

Align the raised mounting section on the back of the display with the metal bracket in the center of the handlebar.

The official arwibon gt08 video shows the display being positioned at about 00:05.

Make sure both mounting holes line up before inserting the screws.

Step 2: Tighten the Two Display Screws

Insert the left and right mounting screws into the back of the display.

Use a T-handle Allen wrench to tighten them.

The official gt08 electric scooter tutorial shows this beginning at about 00:07.

Tighten the two screws alternately rather than fully tightening one side first.

Once both sides are secure, check that the display does not move on the bracket.

Step 3: Connect the Display Harness

Locate the flat multi-pin connector coming from the large display.

Find the matching connector in the main scooter wiring harness.

Align the two connectors and push them together.

The official arwibon gt08 electric scooter video shows the display connection at about 00:16.

Do not force the plug if it does not line up correctly.

Hold the connector bodies rather than pulling or pushing on the wires.

Step 4: Secure the Connector With Zip Ties

After the display plug is connected, use small zip ties to secure the connection.

The video shows zip ties being added at about 00:28.

Secure the connector so normal riding vibration does not pull the two halves apart.

The official tutorial shows the connector being reinforced in more than one direction.

Once the zip ties are tight, cut off the extra ends with side cutters.

This is shown at about 00:48.

Be careful not to cut the display wire while trimming the ties.

Step 5: Wrap the Connector With Insulation Tape

Take black electrical insulation tape.

Wrap the connected display plug and the exposed connection area.

The official arwibon gt08 scooter video begins this step at about 00:55.

Continue wrapping until the connector is covered.

The video describes this as using insulation tape to protect the ports.

Keep the tape tight enough to stay in place, but do not wrap the wire so heavily that the cable becomes difficult to bend naturally.

Step 6: Organize the Handlebar Wiring

Once the large display is connected, start arranging the other control wires around the handlebar.

The official video shows the wiring from both sides being brought together at about 01:17.

This includes the wires running from the handlebar controls and the display area.

Arrange them according to their natural path toward the center of the stem.

Do not pull the cables tight just to make the bundle look smaller.

Step 7: Hold the Wire Bundles in Position

Use short pieces of insulation tape to hold the cable groups together at key points.

The official arwibon gt08 tutorial shows this at about 01:42.

The tape is used here to keep the wires organized before the spiral protective sleeve is installed.

Keep the left-side and right-side wiring arranged so each cable reaches its control without being stretched.

Step 8: Install the Spiral Wire Sleeve

Take the black spiral wire sleeve.

Begin wrapping it around the main bundle running along the front stem.

The official gt08 scooter video shows the sleeve being organized at about 02:04 and wrapped around the main harness from about 02:07.

Rotate the spiral sleeve around the wiring a section at a time.

Do not trap a connector halfway outside the sleeve.

The main purpose is to keep the wires together and protect them from rubbing against the stem and other parts.

Step 9: Continue Wrapping the Branch Wires

When the main harness separates toward the left and right sides of the handlebar, continue wrapping the branch wiring.

The official video shows the upper wiring being organized from about 02:30 through 02:47.

Wrap the sleeve toward the handlebar controls while leaving the connectors and control assemblies in their normal positions.

The wiring should look organized without being pulled tight.

Step 10: Check the Wiring During Full Steering Movement

After the wire sleeve is installed, turn the handlebar fully to the left.

Then turn it fully to the right.

Watch the display cable and the other control wires while doing this.

There should be enough slack for the handlebar to reach both steering limits without pulling on the display connector.

If any wire becomes tight, unwrap that section and give the harness more length before wrapping it again.

Step 11: Final Check

Before riding the arwibon gt08 scooter, check the display installation and wiring one more time.

Make sure:

  • the large display is firmly mounted to the center bracket;
  • both rear mounting screws are secure;
  • the display connector is fully connected;
  • the zip ties are holding the connector in place;
  • the connection area is wrapped with insulation tape;
  • the spiral sleeve covers the main wiring bundle;
  • no wire is sharply bent;
  • the wiring does not become tight when the handlebar turns left or right.

If a connector feels loose or the wiring is being pulled during steering, correct the cable routing before riding the gt08 electric scooter.

This procedure follows the official Arwibon Scooter video “GT08 Large Display Installation | Arwibon GT08” and covers installation, connector protection, and cable organization for the large center display on the arwibon gt08 electric scooter.
