Arwibon Electric Scooter Speedometer Calibration Guide for Arwibon Q12
If the center display and the smaller throttle display on an Arwibon electric scooter show different speed readings, the calibration value in the center display can be adjusted through the handlebar switches.
The official procedure referenced here is demonstrated on the Arwibon Q12PLUS. It can only be used on a Q06Pro if that scooter has the same dual-display system, switch layout, and calibration firmware. Do not assume every Q06Pro or other Arwibon model uses this hidden menu.
This procedure synchronizes the two scooter displays. It does not, by itself, calibrate either display against GPS speed.
What This Adjustment Does
The procedure compares:
- The large center display
- The smaller display beside the throttle
A calibration value is then changed on the center display until the two readings are closer together.
In the official example:
- Large display: about 76 mph
- Small display: about 79 mph
- Difference: about 3 mph
- Initial calibration value: 109
- Adjusted value: 106
These are unloaded display readings shown in the service video. They are not verified road-speed figures or guaranteed top speeds.
Tools Needed
No hand tools are required.
You will need:
- A stable scooter stand or service support
- The scooter key
- Access to the headlight switch
- Access to the left/right turn-signal control
- Access to the throttle and display controls
Raise Both Wheels Before Testing
Step 1: Support the Scooter Securely
Place the Arwibon scooter on a stable repair stand.
Both driven wheels must be completely off the ground before any high-speed unloaded test is performed.
Check that the scooter cannot roll forward, rock off the stand, or tip sideways.
Keep hands, tools, clothing, and loose objects away from the rotating tires.
Measure the Difference Between the Two Displays
Step 2: Turn the Scooter On
Insert the key and switch on the scooter.
Turn on the smaller throttle display if required by the installed display system.
Confirm that both screens are operating normally.
Step 3: Select Gear 3
Use the small display controls to switch to Gear 3.
Check that the selected gear is shown correctly before running the wheels.
Step 4: Perform the Unloaded Speed Comparison
With the scooter firmly supported and both wheels clear of the ground, apply the throttle according to the official procedure.
Allow the displayed speed to settle briefly.
Compare the number on the large center display with the number on the small throttle display.
The video example shows approximately:
- Large display: 76 mph
- Small display: 79 mph
The difference in that example is 3 mph.
Release the throttle and allow the wheels to stop before continuing.
Do not interpret these unloaded display figures as actual riding speed.
Restart the Scooter Before Entering Calibration Mode
Step 5: Switch the Scooter Off and Back On
Turn the key off.
Restart the scooter.
The official procedure requires the calibration-menu command to be completed within approximately 30 seconds after startup.
If the menu does not appear, switch the scooter off and repeat the sequence from the beginning.
Run the Scooter in Gear 1
Step 6: Select Gear 1
Set the scooter to Gear 1.
The official video uses an unloaded display speed of approximately 15–20 mph while entering the calibration mode.
Keep the scooter securely raised.
Step 7: Hold a Steady Throttle
Apply enough throttle to keep the displayed wheel speed approximately within the 15–20 mph range shown in the procedure.
Keep the throttle reasonably steady during the next step.
These numbers are service-video display readings rather than road-speed targets.
Enter the Speedometer Tuning Mode
Step 8: Press the Headlight Switch Seven Times
Within the startup time window, operate the headlight switch seven times in succession while maintaining the test condition shown in the video.
After the seventh operation, watch the center display.
A three-digit calibration value should appear in the lower display area.
The official example shows:
109
When this number appears, the scooter has entered the tuning mode demonstrated in the Q12 procedure.
If the normal trip or mileage display remains unchanged, restart the scooter and repeat the sequence.
Adjust the Calibration Value
Step 9: Use the Turn-Signal Control
The official procedure uses the turn-signal switch to change the displayed value.
The direction shown in the video is:
- Left turn signal → increase the value
- Right turn signal → decrease the value
Make one change at a time and watch the number on the display.
Follow the Example Adjustment
In the official video, the small display is approximately 3 mph higher than the large display.
The calibration value is therefore changed from:
109 → 106
The right turn-signal control is operated three times to reduce the value by three points.
This 109-to-106 adjustment is the example demonstrated in the video. Do not assume every speed difference on every controller/display version must always be converted into an identical one-point-per-mph parameter change without retesting.
Save the New Value
Step 10: Press the Headlight Switch Once
After selecting the required calibration value, press the headlight switch once again.
The tuning number should disappear and the center display should return to its normal operating screen.
This is the save/exit action shown in the official procedure.
Retest Both Displays
Step 11: Return to Gear 3
Switch the scooter back to Gear 3.
Make sure both wheels remain completely off the ground.
Step 12: Compare the Displays Again
Repeat the unloaded speed comparison.
The official video shows the two displays becoming much closer after adjustment, with approximately:
- Large display: 78 mph
- Small display: 79 mph
Again, these are unloaded display readings from the workshop procedure, not verified riding speeds.
The goal is to reduce the difference between the two screens.
If there is still a noticeable discrepancy, repeat the adjustment in small increments rather than making a large parameter change.

The 30-Second Entry Window Matters
The official procedure states that the seven-switch sequence should be completed within approximately 30 seconds after the scooter is restarted.
If the calibration number does not appear, do not continue repeatedly pressing switches while the scooter remains on.
Turn it off, restart it, and try again from the beginning.
Do Not Confuse Display Synchronization With GPS Calibration
This procedure compares one scooter display against the other.
It does not establish which display is measuring true road speed.
If you need to calibrate the scooter against actual vehicle speed, a separate controlled GPS comparison would be required.
The official video supplied here does not demonstrate that GPS calibration procedure.
Keep the Scooter Secure During Unloaded Testing
The official procedure involves the driven wheels spinning at high unloaded speed.
Use a stable stand on a level surface.
Do not perform the high-speed comparison with either driven wheel touching the ground.
Stand clear of the front and rear tire paths and release the throttle before approaching the wheels.
If the Tuning Number Does Not Appear
Check the following before assuming the display is faulty:
- The scooter was restarted immediately before the sequence
- Gear 1 is selected
- The test condition matches the procedure
- The seven headlight-switch operations were completed within the required time
- The installed display and switch system matches the firmware shown in the Q12 procedure
If the same sequence never opens the tuning screen, the installed display version may use a different calibration method.
