How to Remove the Large Display on an Arwibon GT08 Scooter

by LafreniereyoaDoris 26 Aug 2026 0 Comments

Removing the large center display from an arwibon gt08 scooter involves more than taking out the two mounting screws. The display connector is wrapped inside the handlebar wiring bundle, so the spiral sleeve, insulation tape, and zip ties need to be removed first before the screen can be unplugged and lifted off the bracket.

Step 1: Remove the Spiral Wire Sleeve

Start below the handlebar where the main control wires run down the stem.

Use your hands to unwind the black spiral wire sleeve.

The official arwibon gt08 video shows this beginning at about 00:03.

Continue opening the sleeve until the bundled control wires underneath are exposed.

By about 00:13, enough of the harness is visible to reach the display connection.

Do not pull the sleeve straight off. Unwind it gradually so the wires underneath are not dragged or twisted.

Step 2: Remove the Insulation Tape

Find the section of the wiring harness wrapped in black insulation tape.

This is the area covering the large display connector.

The official gt08 electric scooter tutorial shows this at about 00:24.

Use scissors carefully to cut into the outer layer of tape.

The video shows the insulation tape being removed at about 00:29.

Once the first section is open, peel the rest of the tape away by hand.

Continue until the connector and the small securing zip ties underneath are exposed.

The connector area is fully uncovered at about 00:36.

Keep the scissors away from the thin signal wires inside the bundle.

Step 3: Cut the Zip Ties Around the Connector

The large display connector is secured with small nylon zip ties.

Use scissors or side cutters to cut the ties.

The official arwibon gt08 scooter video shows this at about 00:38.

Cut only the plastic tie.

Do not place the blade directly against the display cable.

Once the ties are removed, the connector should be free enough to disconnect.

Step 4: Disconnect the Large Display Plug

Hold both sides of the multi-pin connector.

Release the locking tab if the connector has one, then pull the two halves straight apart.

The official video shows the connector being separated from about 00:48 through 01:00.

Do not pull on the wires themselves.

If the connector feels tight, hold it closer to the plastic plug body and pull straight.

Avoid twisting it from side to side.

Step 5: Locate the Two Display Mounting Screws

Move to the back of the large center display.

There are two Allen screws holding the display to the metal handlebar bracket.

The official arwibon gt08 electric scooter video points them out at about 01:05.

Use the correct T-handle Allen wrench or Allen key.

Step 6: Remove the Two Mounting Screws

Support the display with one hand.

With the other hand, loosen the first mounting screw.

Then remove the second screw.

The official video shows this from about 01:10 to 01:18.

Keep holding the screen while the second screw is being removed.

Once both screws are out, the display is no longer fixed to the bracket and can drop if it is not supported.

Step 7: Lift the Display Off the Bracket

Hold the display with both hands and lift it away from the center bracket.

The official gt08 scooter tutorial shows this at about 01:20.

Do not pull it away quickly because the display cable still needs to pass through the bracket opening.

Step 8: Pull the Display Cable Through the Bracket

Guide the display cable through the opening in the metal bracket.

The official arwibon gt08 video shows the cable being pulled through from about 01:26 to 01:30.

Feed the connector through carefully.

Do not force the plug against the edge of the bracket.

Once the cable and connector are completely clear, the large display is fully removed from the arwibon gt08 scooter.

Step 9: Keep the Removed Parts Together

Set aside:

  • the large display;
  • the two mounting screws;
  • the removed zip ties;
  • any insulation tape that needs to be replaced during reinstallation.

If the display will be installed again, check the connector and cable before reassembly.

Make sure the pins are not bent and the cable insulation has not been damaged while the tape and zip ties were being removed.

This procedure follows the official Arwibon Scooter video “GT08 Large Display Removal | Arwibon GT08” and covers removal of the large center display, connector, protective wrapping, and mounting hardware on the arwibon gt08 electric scooter.
