How to Remove and Reinstall the Stem on an Arwibon GT08 Scooter
This tutorial covers the complete front stem removal and reinstallation process for the arwibon gt08 scooter. The job involves both mechanical disassembly and electrical wiring, so the order matters. Before the stem can be lifted out, the front covers, clamp hardware, deck cover, control connectors, and front brake cable all need to be released.

Tools Needed
Prepare:

Step 1: Remove the Headlight Bracket and Red Stem Covers

Return to the upper stem area.
Unwrap the black spiral cable sleeve by hand.

Step 5: Disconnect the Control Connectors
Follow the wires from the stem into the deck compartment.

Separate the brake cable and electrical harness from the stem routing points.

Keep enough cable length around the upper stem so the handlebar can turn fully left and right without pulling the harness.
Step 12: Reconnect the Electrical Plugs
Reconnect the display, headlight, key lock, brake cutoff, and other plugs in the same positions used before removal.
Align the locating marks and pins before pushing waterproof connectors together.
Do not force a connector that does not fit easily.
Check its orientation first.
After each connection is made, lightly pull on the connector body to confirm it is seated.
Do not pull on the wires themselves.
Step 13: Wrap the Connections
Once the connectors are secure, use electrical insulation tape where shown in the original assembly.
Wrap the connection area firmly without crushing the wires.
The tape can help keep the connections together and reduce exposure to moisture or movement inside the deck.
Keep the harness compact enough to fit back into the controller compartment without being trapped under the deck cover.
Step 14: Reinstall the Front Brake Cable
Route the front brake cable down toward the caliper.
Pass the inner cable through the original adjustment and retaining hardware.
Position the cable in the caliper clamp.
Pull it to the correct tension and tighten the retaining bolt.
Squeeze the brake lever several times.
The lever should return normally.
Rotate the front wheel and check whether the brake disc rubs excessively against the caliper.
If it does, correct the cable tension or caliper position before continuing.
Step 15: Rewrap the Spiral Cable Sleeve
Gather the control wires and brake cable around the front stem.
Reinstall the black spiral wire sleeve from the upper section downward.
Wrap it around the harness gradually.
Do not make the bundle so tight that the cables cannot move during steering.
At the lower stem, leave a smooth bend before the cables enter the frame.
There should be no sharp fold in the brake cable or electrical harness.
Step 16: Reinstall the Red Stem Covers
Place the red side covers back around the stem.
Align the mounting holes with the headlight bracket and stem hardware.
Install the screws by hand first.
Once the panels sit correctly, tighten the screws with the Allen wrench.
Do not tighten one side while the opposite panel is still misaligned.
Check that the covers are sitting flat before the final tightening.
Step 17: Tighten the Lower Stem Clamp
Return to the black clamp at the bottom of the stem.
Install the clamp bolts.
Tighten them gradually in an alternating pattern.
Do not fully tighten one bolt first.
A better sequence is:
- Tighten the first bolt slightly.
- Move to the opposite or next bolt.
- Tighten it by a similar amount.
- Continue around the clamp.
- Repeat until the clamp is secure.
This keeps the clamping force more even around the stem.
Step 18: Reinstall the Deck Cover
Arrange the wiring inside the deck compartment.
Make sure no connector or wire is sitting directly under a screw hole or deck edge.
Place the deck cover back into position.
Install the screws and tighten them gradually.
Do not close the deck until you are sure the wiring has enough room and nothing is pinched underneath.
Step 19: Check the Steering and Stem
Stand on the deck and hold the front brake.
Push the handlebar gently forward and backward.
The stem should not have obvious movement around the lower clamp or steering column.
Then turn the handlebar fully left and right.
Check that:
- the wiring is not pulled tight;
- the brake cable moves freely;
- the headlight wiring has enough slack;
- the stem does not shift inside the clamp.
If you feel play around the lower stem, stop and recheck the clamp hardware.
Step 20: Final Check Before Riding
