How to Adjust the Handlebar Clamp Tightness on an Arwibon GT08 Scooter
This tutorial shows how to adjust the quick-release clamp on the telescopic handlebar stem of an arwibon gt08 scooter. The adjustment is done by changing the preload on the knurled nut, then closing the quick-release lever and checking whether the inner stem still moves.
The height limit also needs to be checked before the clamp is locked.
Step 1: Set the Handlebar Height
Pull the inner telescopic stem upward to the height you want.
The official arwibon gt08 video shows this at about 00:03.
Do not lock the clamp yet.
First, check the warning mark on the inner stem.
Step 2: Check the MAX LIFT LIMIT Mark
Look for the white marking on the stem:
“WARNING MAX LIFT LIMIT”
The official gt08 electric scooter video points this out from about 00:07 to 00:10.
The warning mark must stay below the top of the outer stem.
The video shows this clearly at about 00:12.
Do not ride the scooter with the MAX LIFT LIMIT mark exposed above the clamp.
Step 3: Open the Quick-Release Lever
Keep the quick-release lever in the open position.
Locate the black knurled adjustment nut on the opposite side of the clamp.
The official arwibon gt08 scooter video shows the nut at about 00:16.
This nut controls how tightly the clamp closes around the inner stem.
Step 4: Tighten the Adjustment Nut
Turn the knurled nut clockwise by hand.
The official video shows the tightening adjustment from about 00:18 to 00:23.
Make small adjustments.
You normally do not need a wrench for this part.
After turning the nut slightly, close the quick-release lever and check the clamp again.
Step 5: Close the Quick-Release Lever
Push the quick-release lever inward until it reaches the locked position.
The official arwibon gt08 video shows this from about 00:25 to 00:29.
The lever should have noticeable resistance as it closes.
It should not drop into the locked position with almost no effort.
Step 6: Correct the Clamp Tension if Needed
If the lever closes too easily, open it again.
Turn the knurled nut clockwise slightly to increase the clamp tension.
If the lever becomes too tight to close fully, open it and turn the nut slightly counterclockwise.
The official gt08 scooter tutorial shows this adjustment from about 00:32 to 00:35.
Make small changes each time rather than tightening the nut several turns at once.
Step 7: Check the Inner Stem
Once the quick-release lever is locked, hold the handlebar with both hands.
Try to move the inner stem up and down.
Then try to rotate the handlebar slightly.
The official video shows this check at about 00:41.
The inner stem should remain fixed inside the outer tube.
If it still slides or rotates, open the lever and increase the clamp tension slightly.
Step 8: Final Check Before Riding
Before riding the arwibon gt08 scooter, check:
- the MAX LIFT LIMIT mark is below the top of the outer stem;
- the quick-release lever closes fully;
- the lever has noticeable resistance when closing;
- the inner stem does not slide up or down;
- the inner stem does not rotate inside the outer tube;
- the handlebar feels solid when pushed and pulled.
This adjustment does not require removing the handlebar or using special tools. The clamp tension is changed directly with the knurled adjustment nut on the opposite side of the quick-release lever.
This procedure follows the official Arwibon Scooter video “GT08 Handlebar Elastic Adjustment | Arwibon GT08” and covers the telescopic stem clamp tightness and height-limit check shown for the arwibon gt08 electric scooter.
