Arwibon GT08 Controller B Removal and Replacement Guide

This tutorial combines the complete removal and installation process for Controller B on an arwibon gt08 scooter. Controller B is the rear motor controller, so this procedure applies when replacing the controller or checking the rear motor control circuit.

The main rule is straightforward: disconnect battery power first during removal, and reconnect battery power last during installation.

Controller B Specifications

The Controller B shown in the supplied material is labeled as:

  • Type: Sine wave brushless motor controller
  • Voltage: 60V
  • Current: 37 ± 1A
  • Undervoltage: 51.5V
  • Brake: Low level
  • Handle voltage: 1.1–4.2V
  • Phase angle: 120°

Tools Needed

Prepare:

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Allen key set
  • Small flat screwdriver or terminal-release tool

Part 1: Remove Controller B

Step 1: Open the Deck Compartment

Remove the screws around the deck cover.

Lift the cover to expose the battery and the two controllers inside the arwibon gt08 scooter.

Locate Controller B in the rear motor control circuit.

Before touching any controller wire, find the yellow high-current battery connector.

Step 2: Disconnect the Main Battery Power First

Separate the yellow main battery power plug.

This must be done before removing the motor phase wires or any controller connectors.

Keep the disconnected battery plug away from exposed terminals and metal tools while you work.

Do not use a screwdriver on the controller terminals while battery power is still connected.

Step 3: Open the Phase-Wire Terminal Cover

Locate the rubber insulating cover over the motor phase-wire terminals on Controller B.

Lift the cover away.

The three thick rear motor phase wires should now be visible:

  • yellow
  • green
  • blue

Step 4: Remove the Three Motor Phase Wires

Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the three screws holding the motor phase-wire ring terminals to Controller B.

Remove the yellow, green, and blue wires from the terminal block.

Keep the screws and washers together.

Before disconnecting them, take a clear photo of the original wire positions.

This gives you a direct reference for installation later.

Step 5: Disconnect the 4-Pin Connector

Locate the small 4-pin auxiliary connector underneath Controller B.

Press the locking tab on the connector.

Hold the plastic connector body and pull it straight out.

Do not pull on the individual wires.

According to the supplied wiring description, this connector uses yellow, red, and black wires.

Step 6: Disconnect the 16-Pin Main Harness

Locate the larger 16-pin main communication harness in the center.

Press the locking tab and pull the plug straight out of the controller.

Do not rock the connector aggressively from side to side.

If it does not release easily, check that the locking clip is fully disengaged.

Step 7: Disconnect the 6-Pin Hall Sensor Plug

Locate the 6-pin motor Hall sensor connector.

Release the locking tab and unplug it from Controller B.

The supplied wiring description identifies the Hall wiring as:

  • yellow
  • green
  • blue
  • red
  • black

Hold the connector housing while unplugging it.

Do not pull the thin Hall wires directly.

Step 8: Remove the Controller Mounting Bolts

Once all electrical connections are disconnected, remove the Allen bolts holding Controller B to the scooter chassis.

Support the controller while removing the last mounting bolt.

Lift Controller B out of the deck compartment.

At this point, the original rear motor controller is completely removed.

Part 2: Install the Replacement Controller B

Step 9: Position the New Controller

Place the replacement 60V/37A Controller B into the original mounting position.

Align the controller with the chassis mounting points.

Do not reconnect battery power yet.

The yellow main battery connector should remain disconnected throughout the wiring process.

Step 10: Connect the 4-Pin Auxiliary Plug

Start with the small connector on the left side.

Align the 4-pin plug with the matching controller socket.

Check the connector orientation before pushing it in.

Insert it until the locking clip engages.

Do not force the plug if the shape does not line up.

Step 11: Connect the 16-Pin Main Harness

Move to the large center connector.

Align the 16-pin main harness with the controller socket.

Check the locating shape and orientation.

Push the connector straight into the controller until it is fully seated and the locking tab holds it in place.

After connecting it, pull gently on the connector body to confirm it is locked.

Step 12: Connect the 6-Pin Hall Sensor Plug

Connect the rear motor Hall sensor harness to the 6-pin socket on Controller B.

Align the plug correctly before pushing it in.

Make sure the connector is completely seated.

Do not leave the Hall plug partially connected.

Step 13: Reconnect the Three Motor Phase Wires

Move to the phase-wire terminal block on the side of Controller B.

According to the supplied controller layout, the terminal positions are:

  • upper terminal: Blue
  • center terminal: Green
  • lower terminal: Yellow

Place each motor phase-wire ring terminal onto the corresponding connection point.

Use the original terminal screws to secure them.

Follow the controller markings and the wiring position recorded before removal.

Step 14: Tighten the Phase-Wire Terminals

Use the Phillips screwdriver to tighten all three terminal screws.

Check each ring terminal after tightening.

The terminal should sit flat against the connection point and should not move when touched.

Do not leave a phase-wire terminal loose.

Once all three are secure, reinstall the rubber insulating cover over the terminal block.

Step 15: Secure Controller B to the Chassis

Align the controller mounting tabs with the original chassis holes.

Install the mounting bolts.

Tighten the controller into position with the Allen wrench.

Make sure the controller does not move inside the deck compartment.

Step 16: Organize the Wiring

Before reconnecting the battery, arrange the wiring around Controller B.

Check that:

  • the 4-pin connector is fully seated;
  • the 16-pin connector is locked;
  • the 6-pin Hall plug is connected;
  • the three phase wires are secure;
  • no cable is trapped underneath the controller;
  • no wire is stretched across a sharp edge;
  • the rubber terminal cover is back in place.

The battery should still be disconnected during this inspection.

Step 17: Reconnect the Main Battery Power Last

Once every other connection has been checked, reconnect the yellow main battery power plug.

This should be the final electrical connection.

Do not reconnect battery power and then continue working on exposed controller terminals.

Step 18: Test the Rear Motor

Turn on the scooter with the key lock.

For the first test, keep the rear drive wheel off the ground.

Apply the throttle gently.

Check that:

  • the display powers on normally;
  • the rear wheel responds to the throttle;
  • the motor rotates in the expected direction;
  • the motor runs without abnormal vibration;
  • the brake cutoff still works;
  • there are no loose connections inside the deck.

If the rear motor does not operate normally, turn the scooter off and disconnect the yellow battery plug again before checking Controller B wiring.

Do not change phase-wire or Hall connections while the controller is powered.

Step 19: Close the Deck

Once the rear motor and controls work normally, arrange the cables inside the deck compartment.

Keep wires away from the deck screw holes.

Place the deck cover back into position.

Install the surrounding screws and check that no cable has been pinched underneath the cover.

The Controller B replacement is now complete.

This procedure covers the complete removal, wiring, installation, and initial testing of the 60V rear motor Controller B used on the arwibon gt08 electric scooter.
