How to Install an External Horn on an Arwibon Q06Pro Electric Scooter

This guide covers installation of the external 60V horn used on the Arwibon Q06pro, including the front mounting bracket, cable routing into the deck, identification of the No. 1–6 connectors shown in the service procedure, and terminal replacement when the original connector housing does not match.

The terminal-repinning section should only be used when the replacement wiring requires the connector conversion shown in the original Q06pro procedure. Record the original wire positions before removing any terminal.

Tools and Parts Needed

  • Allen wrench or Allen screwdriver
  • Small pointed pick or thin flat terminal-release tool
  • 60V external horn assembly with mounting bracket and wiring
  • Electrical insulating tape
  • Protective gloves

Step 1: Mount the External Horn

Position the black external horn at the mounting point on the front stem cross member.

Place the horn's flat metal bracket over the existing mounting hole.

Insert the Allen bolt and washer.

Hold the horn while tightening the bolt so the housing does not rotate with the bracket.

Position the horn face vertically or slightly downward rather than pointing upward. This reduces the chance of water collecting inside the front of the horn.

Tighten the mounting bolt securely.

Step 2: Route the Horn Wires Down the Stem

Take the two wires coming from the rear of the horn and route them backward toward the main front wiring harness.

Run the wires down the stem alongside the existing harness.

Continue past the folding section and route the cable into the deck compartment through the original wiring path.

Leave enough slack around the steering and folding areas for normal movement.

Do not pull the horn wires tightly across a hinge or sharp frame edge.

Step 3: Open the Deck and Locate the Front Wiring Group

Open the deck to expose the controller and front lighting/control wiring.

The official Arwibon Q06Pro procedure identifies a group of connectors as No. 1 through No. 6.

These numbers are useful for following this specific repair procedure. They should not be treated as universal connector numbers for every Arwibon scooter or every production version.

Before separating or repinning electrical connectors, switch the scooter off and disconnect the main battery supply.

Step 4: Identify Connector No. 1

Locate the black 2-pin connector shown as Connector No. 1.

In the supplied procedure, one side has two black wires and the opposite side has red and black wires.

Inspect the connector housing, terminals, and locking tab.

Do not change any terminal position at this connector unless the original harness layout has been recorded and the repair specifically requires it.

Step 5: Identify Connector No. 2

Next, locate Connector No. 2.

The procedure shows this as a longer black locking connector with blue, red, and white wires on one side and a multicolor harness on the other.

Inspect that the plug is fully seated and that none of the terminals has backed out of the housing.

This connector is part of the front control wiring shown in the official procedure.

Step 6: Identify Connector No. 3

Locate the small black 2-pin connector identified as No. 3.

The supplied procedure shows blue wires on one side and red/black wiring on the other.

Check the plastic locking mechanism and make sure the terminals remain level inside the housing.

Do not identify the circuit only by wire color if the scooter has previously been repaired or modified.

Step 7: Locate Connector No. 4

Connector No. 4 is the plug modified during the horn installation shown in the procedure.

The source identifies one side by blue/white/black wiring and the other by black/red/yellow wiring.

If the replacement horn harness uses a different plastic connector housing, the existing metal terminals may need to be removed and transferred into the matching housing.

Before removing any terminal, photograph or write down the original cavity positions.

Step 8: Release the Terminals From the Old Connector Housing

Disconnect Connector No. 4.

Hold the plastic connector housing firmly.

From the front of the housing, insert a small pick into the terminal cavity and gently release the retaining feature that holds the metal terminal in place.

While the retaining feature is released, pull lightly on the corresponding wire from the rear.

The metal terminal should slide out without heavy force.

Do not pull hard enough to separate the wire from the crimped terminal.

Repeat only for the terminals that must be transferred.

Step 9: Inspect and Reset the Terminal Retaining Tang

Inspect each removed terminal.

If the small metal retaining tang has been flattened during removal, lift it outward slightly with the pick.

Only a small adjustment is needed.

The retaining tang must be able to catch inside the replacement connector housing after the terminal is reinserted.

Do not bend the terminal body or spread the contact section.

Step 10: Insert the Terminals Into the Replacement Housing

Following the exact connector orientation and cavity positions shown in the Q06Pro procedure, insert the yellow, red, and black wire terminals into the replacement housing.

Push each terminal forward until it locks.

Then lightly pull the wire from the rear.

The terminal should remain in place.

If it slides backward, remove it and inspect the retaining tang again.

Do not guess the cavity position based only on wire color. Use the original connector orientation and the official procedure as the reference.

Step 11: Check Connector No. 5

Locate Connector No. 5 in the front deck wiring group.

The procedure shows this connection with red and black wiring.

Separate it if required for inspection, check that the terminals are straight and fully retained, then reconnect the housing until its locking mechanism engages.

Do not pull the plug apart by the wires.

Step 12: Check Connector No. 6

Follow the horn wiring to Connector No. 6.

The procedure identifies this connection by blue wiring on one side and red/black wiring on the opposite side.

Inspect the terminals, then reconnect the plug fully.

Make sure neither terminal moves backward when the two connector halves are joined.

Step 13: Protect the Modified Connections

Once the required connectors have been correctly joined, wrap the connection area with electrical insulating tape as shown in the service procedure.

Cover the plug joints and support the wiring so the connectors cannot move freely around the deck compartment.

The tape adds protection against splash and movement, but it should not be treated as a guarantee that the connection is completely waterproof.

Do not wrap damaged or corroded terminals and assume the tape will repair them.

Step 14: Reconnect Battery Power and Test the Horn

After all electrical work has been completed and every connector has been checked, reconnect the main battery supply.

Turn on the Arwibon Q06Pro.

Press the green horn button on the handlebar.

The external horn should sound normally.

If the horn does not work, switch the scooter off and disconnect battery power again before checking the repinned connector, horn wiring, and the other plugs involved in the procedure.

Do not repeatedly move terminals while the system remains powered.

Step 15: Check Steering and Folding Cable Movement

Before closing the deck, turn the handlebars fully left and right.

Watch the new horn cable where it follows the main harness.

The cable should not become tight at either steering limit.

Also check the folding section.

There should be enough cable movement for the folding mechanism to operate without stretching, crushing, or sharply bending the horn wires.

Step 16: Arrange the Deck Wiring and Close the Cover

Place the connectors back into the deck compartment.

Keep the wiring away from:

  • Deck-cover bolt holes
  • Sharp frame edges
  • Controller edges
  • Folding components
  • Areas where the deck cover could pinch the harness

Reinstall the deck cover after the horn has passed its electrical and steering-movement tests.

Important Terminal-Repinning Notes

When releasing a terminal, use the pick only to disengage the retaining feature. Forcing the tool into the housing can break the plastic lock and leave the terminal unable to stay in position.

After a terminal has been moved to a new housing, always perform a light pull test.

A connector can appear fully assembled while one metal terminal has actually been pushed backward. This can create an open circuit even though the plastic housings are locked together.

Wire position is especially important during this repair. Do not move yellow, red, black, blue, or other wires into different cavities unless their positions have been confirmed from the original Q06Pro wiring and the service procedure.

Horn Position and Water Exposure

Mount the external horn so the sound opening does not point upward.

A forward or slightly downward orientation is preferable for the installation shown here.

After mounting, verify that the horn does not contact the suspension, stem, or wiring when the scooter is turned or folded.

Arwibon Q06Pro Horn and Parts Compatibility

This installation procedure applies to the arwibon q06 pro, arwibon q06pro, arwibon q06, and the q06 pro electric scooter wiring configuration shown in the service procedure.
