Arwibon Electric Scooter Key Ignition Switch Wiring and Connector Installation Guide
If the key ignition switch on your arwibon scooter has been replaced, the two handlebar wiring connectors must be checked carefully before the scooter is powered on.
This guide follows the official Arwibon lock switch installation warning procedure. The main point of the video is simple: compare the wire colors on both sides of each connector before plugging them together. If the colors do not match, do not power on the scooter.
The connector colors and layout below apply to the configuration shown in the supplied procedure. Do not treat them as a universal pinout for every Arwibon electric scooter.
Tools and Work Area
No mechanical tools are required for the connector installation shown in the procedure.
Prepare:
- Good lighting
- Protective gloves
- Smartphone or camera for recording the original wiring
- Clean working area around the stem harness
Take a clear photo of both connector sides before changing the wiring.
Identify the Two Key-Switch Connectors
The procedure shows two separate connector groups between the scooter harness and the replacement lockswitch assembly.
One connector carries a white/blue/yellow wire group.
The second connector carries a black/red/green/purple wire group.
Keep the two connector groups separate while checking them.
Check the First Connector Before Plugging It In
Step 1: Compare the Wire Colors
Locate the connector shown with the white, blue, and yellow wires.
Compare the wire entering one side of the connector with the wire leaving the matching cavity on the other side.
The official procedure requires:
- White → White
- Yellow → Yellow
- Blue → Blue
Do not plug the connector together if one of these colors crosses into a different wire position.
Step 2: Check the Housing Orientation
Confirm that the connector housings are the correct matching pair.
Look at:
- Locking tab
- Keyed shape
- Pin position
- Wire order
A connector physically fitting together is not enough if the wire positions do not match the configuration shown in the procedure.
Connect the First Plug
Step 3: Align the Two Housings
Hold the male and female connector bodies.
Align the keyed guide and locking tab.
Push the two housings straight together.
Do not twist the plug while inserting it.
Step 4: Check the Color Alignment Again
After the plug is connected, look at the wires on both sides.
Confirm again:
White → White
Yellow → Yellow
Blue → Blue
Lightly pull the connector housings to confirm that the locking tab has engaged.
Do not pull on the individual wires.
Check the Second Connector
Step 5: Identify the Black/Red/Green/Purple Plug
Locate the second connector shown in the official procedure.
The supplied wiring arrangement is:
- Black → Black
- Red → Red
- Green → Green
- Purple → Purple
Check the colors before joining the connector.
Connect the Second Plug
Step 6: Align and Insert the Connector
Match the keyed housings.
Push them together until the locking feature engages.
Do not force the connector if it stops before fully seating.
If it does not fit naturally, separate it and recheck:
- Connector type
- Orientation
- Pin position
- Wire order
Step 7: Confirm the Wire Colors Through the Connected Plug
Once connected, inspect both sides again.
The color sequence should remain:
Black → Black
Red → Red
Green → Green
Purple → Purple
If one wire crosses to a different color, do not continue to the power test.

Do Not Rely Only on the Connector Shape
The official warning specifically asks the installer to verify the wire colors.
A keyed connector may physically fit while the terminal positions in a replacement part differ from the original assembly.
For that reason, check both:
- Physical connector match
- Wire-to-wire color match
Do not assume that “it plugs in” means the wiring is correct.
Take a Photo Before Powering On
Step 8: Record Both Connected Plugs
Lay the two connectors where all wire colors can be seen clearly.
Take a close photo showing both sides of each plug.
This provides a reference if the connection needs to be checked later.
The official procedure also advises contacting Arwibon support if you are not certain that the replacement lockswitch wiring matches.
Stop if the Wire Colors Do Not Match
If the new key-switch harness does not match the original scooter harness color for color, do not repin the connector by guessing.
Do not move terminals based only on assumptions about what a red, black, blue, or yellow wire “usually” does.
Instead:
- Leave the scooter powered off.
- Photograph both connector sides.
- Record the replacement-part information.
- Contact arwibon support or use the correct wiring documentation for that exact assembly.
- Confirm the cavity positions before changing any terminals.
Check for Backed-Out Terminals
Before the first power test, inspect the rear of each connector.
Look for a terminal sitting farther back than the others.
Lightly pull each individual wire.
A terminal should remain locked in the housing.
If one terminal moves:
- Disconnect the plug.
- Inspect the terminal locking tang.
- Correct or replace the terminal if necessary.
- Reinsert it into the original cavity.
- Pull-test it again.
Do not power the scooter with a partially backed-out key-switch terminal.
First Power-On Test
Step 9: Insert the Key
Only after both connector groups have been checked should the key be inserted.
Turn the key to the ON position.
Watch the key-switch display or voltage display, if fitted.
The electrical system should power normally.
Step 10: Turn On the Scooter Display
Power on the main display or throttle display according to the scooter's normal startup procedure.
Check that:
- Display powers on
- Key switch functions normally
- Voltage display operates, if fitted
- Scooter remains powered
- No connector becomes hot
- No burning smell or abnormal electrical behavior appears
The supplied material mentions approximately 66.8–67.2 V as an example full-charge display reading for the system shown. Treat that as the example from the procedure, not as a required reading for every Arwibon model.
If the Scooter Does Not Power On
If the lockswitch has been replaced and the scooter remains completely dead, turn the key off before checking the connectors.
Start with:
- White/blue/yellow wire alignment
- Black/red/green/purple wire alignment
- Connector locking tabs
- Backed-out terminals
- Damaged wire near the connector
- Loose key-switch harness
Do not repeatedly unplug and reconnect the key-switch harness while the scooter is powered.
If the Connector Colors Match but the Scooter Still Fails
Matching wire colors only confirms that the replacement has been installed according to the wiring arrangement shown in the official procedure.
It does not prove that the lockswitch itself, the stem harness, display, controller, or power circuit is working correctly.
If the wiring is correct but the scooter still will not power on, continue with electrical diagnosis rather than changing terminal positions randomly.
Keep the Stem Harness Free to Move
After the connectors are verified, arrange the key-switch wiring with the rest of the stem harness.
Turn the handlebars fully left and right.
If the scooter has a folding stem, operate the folding mechanism as well.
The wires should not be pulled tight, pinched, or sharply bent at the connector.
Final Check Before Riding
Before returning the Arwibon e scooter to service, confirm:
- First connector matches white-to-white, yellow-to-yellow, and blue-to-blue
- Second connector matches black-to-black, red-to-red, green-to-green, and purple-to-purple
- Both connector locks are engaged
- No terminal has backed out
- No wire is pinched
- Harness has enough steering and folding slack
- Key switch turns on normally
- Display powers correctly
- No abnormal heat, smell, or electrical interruption appears
If any wire color on the replacement switch does not match the original harness, keep the scooter powered off until the correct connector or pin arrangement has been confirmed.
