How to Replace the Meter and Throttle Assembly on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter

This tutorial covers replacement of the Arwibon Q30 meter and throttle assembly, including removal of the old unit, disconnecting its two plugs inside the deck, installing the new assembly, restoring the spiral cable wrap, and checking power and throttle response.

Tools and Parts Needed

Prepare:

• New Arwibon Q30 meter/throttle/key-lock assembly
• 2.5 mm Allen key
• Black spiral cable wrap
• Protective gloves

Remove the Old Meter and Throttle Assembly

Step 1: Loosen the Throttle Clamp Bolt

Locate the Allen bolt underneath the right-side throttle and key-lock housing.

Use a 2.5 mm Allen key to turn the bolt counterclockwise.

The video shows the bolt being loosened at about 00:07.

Loosen it enough for the assembly to slide along the handlebar.

Step 2: Slide the Old Assembly Off the Handlebar

Hold the throttle assembly with both hands and pull it outward along the right handlebar tube.

The official video shows the assembly being removed at about 00:15.

Keep the attached cable free while sliding the unit off.

Do not pull the assembly by the wiring.

Step 3: Remove the Spiral Cable Wrap

Move to the wiring running along the front stem.

The official video shows this area at about 00:19.

Unwind the black spiral cable protector from the harness.

The video shows the wrap being opened from about 00:21 to 00:26.

Continue until the throttle/meter cable is separated from the surrounding wiring.

Disconnect the Old Assembly Inside the Deck

Step 4: Open the Deck and Locate the Wiring

Open the battery cover and locate the cable from the old meter/throttle assembly.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows this at about 00:30.

Follow the cable to the corresponding connectors inside the controller compartment.

Step 5: Locate the Two Black Connectors

The supplied procedure shows two black quick-disconnect plugs belonging to this assembly.

They are shown at about 00:34.

Keep track of which plugs belong to the old assembly before disconnecting them.

Step 6: Disconnect Both Plugs

Press the locking tabs and separate the two connectors.

The official video shows this at about 00:43.

Pull on the connector housings rather than the wires.

The old meter and throttle assembly can now be removed completely.

Install the New Meter and Throttle Assembly

Step 7: Route the New Cable Into the Deck

Take the new Arwibon Q30 meter/throttle assembly and route its cable into the controller compartment.

The official video shows the new assembly being prepared at about 00:46.

Follow the same cable path used by the original unit.

Keep the wiring away from sharp frame edges.

Step 8: Connect the Two Black Plugs

Match the two new connectors with the corresponding plugs inside the deck.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows these connections at about 00:51.

Match them by:

• connector shape;
• pin count;
• wire arrangement;
• locking position.

Push each connector fully together.

Do not force a plug if the connector key does not align.

Restore the Cable Protection

Step 9: Arrange the Wiring Along the Stem

Gather the new throttle/meter cable with the surrounding handlebar wiring.

The official video shows this at about 00:54.

Keep the cable path smooth and free from tight bends.

Step 10: Reinstall the Spiral Cable Wrap

Wrap the black spiral protector around the cable bundle.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows this at about 00:57.

Continue along the original routing path.

Do not wrap the harness so tightly that the wiring becomes stretched when the handlebar turns.

Install the New Assembly on the Handlebar

Step 11: Slide the New Assembly Onto the Right Handlebar

Push the new meter/throttle/key-lock assembly onto the right handlebar tube.

The official video shows this at about 01:06.

Slide it inward until it reaches the correct position.

Step 12: Adjust the Assembly Angle

Rotate the assembly to a comfortable operating position.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows this adjustment at about 01:09.

The throttle should move naturally, and the key-lock display should be easy to see.

Step 13: Tighten the Clamp Bolt

Use the 2.5 mm Allen key to tighten the clamp bolt.

The official video shows this at about 01:11.

Tighten it securely enough that the assembly cannot rotate on the handlebar during use.

Do not overtighten the small clamp bolt.

Test the New Meter and Throttle

Step 14: Turn the Key On

Insert the key and turn it to the power-on position.

The official Arwibon Q30 video shows this at about 01:15.

Step 15: Check the Meter Display

Look at the meter or voltage display.

The official video shows it powered on at about 01:18.

Confirm that the display lights normally and shows a voltage reading.

If the display remains off, turn the scooter off and recheck the two connectors inside the deck.

Step 16: Test the Throttle

Before testing the throttle, support the driven wheel off the ground.

Turn the throttle gently.

Check that the motor responds normally and that the throttle returns by itself when released.

The official video shows the final functional check at about 01:21.

Do not perform the first throttle test with the driven wheel firmly on the ground.

Check the Cable Routing

Turn the handlebar fully left and right.

Make sure the new cable does not become tight at either steering limit.

Also check that the spiral wrap does not pull on the two connectors inside the deck.

The throttle cable should have enough movement for normal steering without hanging loosely near moving parts.

Important Notes

Use the Correct 2.5 mm Allen Key

The clamp bolt shown in the supplied procedure uses a 2.5 mm Allen key.

Make sure the tool is fully inserted before turning.

If the tool slips inside the bolt head, stop before the internal hex becomes rounded.

Check Both Connectors Carefully

Both black quick-disconnect plugs must be fully seated.

A partially connected plug can cause the display or throttle to stop working intermittently.

Check Throttle Return Before Riding

The throttle should return freely when released.

If it sticks, binds, or does not return completely, do not ride the scooter until the handlebar position and throttle assembly are corrected.

Final Check

After replacement, confirm that:

• the old meter/throttle assembly is completely removed;
• both new connectors are fully seated;
• the spiral cable wrap is restored;
• the new assembly is secure on the right handlebar;
• the key turns normally;
• the meter powers on;
• the throttle responds normally;
• the throttle returns by itself;
• the wiring has enough slack through the full steering range.
