How to Remove the Rear Tire on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter
This tutorial covers rear tire removal on an Arwibon Q30 scooter. The procedure shown in the supplied video keeps the rear motor wiring connected to the scooter, removes the motor wheel from the swingarm, removes the brake disc, fully deflates the tire, and then works the tire bead off the motor rim.
Tools Needed
Prepare:
- Small stool or scooter support stand
- Scissors or cable-tie cutter
- Allen keys
- Large open-end wrench or adjustable wrench
- Valve tool or suitable blunt tool for depressing the valve core
- Two flat-head screwdrivers or suitable tire levers
- Protective gloves
Support the scooter securely before removing the rear wheel.
Step 1: Raise the Rear Wheel Off the Ground
Place a small stool or support stand under the scooter deck.

Make sure the scooter is stable and the rear wheel is completely off the ground.
Do not rely on the kickstand while removing the motor wheel.
Step 2: Release the Motor Cable
Locate the tape or cable ties securing the rear motor cable to the frame.

Use scissors carefully to cut the retaining tape or cable tie.
Do not cut into the motor cable insulation.
The purpose is to give the motor cable enough movement while the wheel is taken out of the swingarm.
Step 3: Remove the Rear Brake Caliper
Move to the brake-disc side of the rear wheel.

Use the Allen key to remove the two bolts holding the rear brake caliper to its bracket.
Move the caliper away from the brake disc.
Keep it supported so the brake cable is not pulled or sharply bent.
Step 4: Loosen the Right Rear Axle Nut
Use the large wrench on the right-side motor axle nut.

Turn the nut counterclockwise.
Remove or loosen the axle hardware enough for the motor axle to come out of the swingarm slot.
Keep the washers in their original order.
Step 5: Loosen the Left Rear Axle Nut
Move to the motor cable side of the wheel.

Loosen the left-side axle nut with the large wrench.
Again, keep track of the washers and other axle hardware on this side.
Do not mix the left- and right-side hardware.
Step 6: Remove the Motor Wheel From the Swingarm
Support the motor wheel with both hands.
Once both axle nuts are released, guide the motor axle rearward and out of the open swingarm slots.

The motor wheel is heavier than a normal scooter wheel, so do not let it drop when the axle clears the frame.
Step 7: Free the Motor Cable From the Swingarm
Guide the motor cable out of its routing position above the swingarm.

In the supplied procedure, the motor remains electrically connected to the scooter.
Do not pull the wheel farther away than the motor cable comfortably allows.
Never use the cable to support the weight of the motor wheel.
Step 8: Fully Deflate the Tire
Remove the valve cap.
The official Arwibon Q30 video shows the tire being deflated at about 01:29.
Press the valve core with the appropriate tool and release all air from the tire.
Keep the valve open until no noticeable pressure remains.
Do not begin levering the tire off while it is still pressurized.
Step 9: Lower the Scooter for Tire Work
Because the motor cable remains connected in the supplied procedure, the available working distance is limited.

Position the wheel so you can work on it without stretching the motor harness.
Keep the cable relaxed throughout the tire removal.
Step 10: Position the Wheel With the Brake Disc Facing Up
Lay the motor wheel flat.

Keep the brake disc facing upward so its six mounting screws are accessible.
Step 11: Remove the Six Brake Disc Screws
Use the Allen key to loosen the six brake disc mounting screws.

Remove all six screws and keep them together.
Do not begin tire levering with the brake disc still attached.
Step 12: Remove the Brake Disc
Lift the brake disc straight off the motor hub.
The official video shows it removed at about 02:00.
Place the disc on a flat, clean surface where it cannot be bent.
Removing it first keeps tire-removal force and tools away from the disc.
Step 13: Break the Tire Bead Away From the Rim
Press and squeeze the tire sidewall around the rim.

Work around the circumference until the tire bead releases from the rim edge.
Push the loose bead inward toward the deeper center section of the rim where possible.
This creates more slack for the section you will lever over the rim.
Step 14: Insert the First Tire Lever
Insert the first flat-head screwdriver or tire lever under the tire bead.

Carefully lift a small section of the bead over the rim edge.
Do not push the tool deeper than necessary.
If the wheel uses an inner tube, take extra care not to pinch or puncture it with the tool.
Step 15: Use the Second Lever
Insert the second screwdriver a short distance from the first.

Lift another section of the tire bead over the rim.
Use the two tools together to hold the released section while working farther around the wheel.
Do not lever directly against the motor cable or valve stem.
Step 16: Work Around the Rim
Continue moving around the rim in small sections.
The official Arwibon Q30 video shows the tire bead progressively coming off through about 02:28.
Avoid trying to remove a large section at once.
If the tire becomes difficult to move, check that the opposite side of the bead is still pushed into the center channel of the rim.
Step 17: Pull the First Side of the Tire Off
Once enough of the bead has cleared the rim, continue by hand.
Work around the wheel until one complete side of the tire is outside the rim.
At this stage, less levering should be necessary.
Step 18: Remove the Tire From the Motor Rim
Grip the tire with both hands.

Work the remaining bead off the rim.
The old tire is shown completely removed from the motor wheel at about 03:03.
Step 19: Check the Rim and Tire Area
Before installing a new tire or inner tube, inspect:
- the rim edge;
- valve opening;
- tire bead seat;
- motor cable near the axle;
- brake disc mounting area.
Remove any debris that could interfere with the new tire.
If an inner tube is being replaced, inspect the inside of the old tire for the object that caused the puncture before installing the new tube.
Final Check
After removing the rear tire, confirm that:
- the scooter remains stable;
- the rear brake caliper is safely supported;
- axle hardware has been kept in its original order;
- the motor cable has not been stretched or damaged;
- the tire was completely deflated before levering;
- the brake disc was removed before tire work;
- the brake disc is stored flat;
- the rim edge has not been damaged by the tire tools;
- the old tire is completely removed from the motor rim.
