How to Adjust Front-End Shake on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter
This tutorial covers the front stem shake adjustment shown for an Arwibon Q30 scooter. It applies when you can feel noticeable forward-and-back play around the lower stem and steering-column connection.
The procedure shown in the supplied video checks the upper stem fasteners first, then the three lower clamp bolts near the folding base. After adjustment, check both the remaining play and the steering movement before riding.
Tools Needed
Prepare:
- Allen key, preferably with enough length for good leverage
- Protective gloves
No tightening torque is provided in the supplied procedure, so use the correct specification for the hardware rather than guessing a torque value.
Step 1: Check Where the Front-End Play Comes From
Hold the front wheel or front suspension with one hand.
Use the other hand to push and pull the stem forward and backward.

Try to identify the part that is actually moving rather than tightening unrelated bolts.
Step 2: Locate the Upper Stem Fastener
Move to the lower section of the front stem.

Insert the Allen key fully into the bolt head.
A partially inserted Allen key can damage the internal hex when force is applied.
Step 3: Tighten the Upper Bolt
Turn the upper bolt clockwise.

Tighten it securely.
Do not continue applying force after the fastener has seated simply because the original play has not disappeared yet. There are additional fasteners lower on the stem that also need to be checked.
Step 4: Check the Other Upper Fasteners
Inspect the other locating or clamp bolts in the same section.

Tighten any bolt in this group that is loose.
Keep the stem straight while working.
Step 5: Locate the Three Lower Stem Clamp Bolts
Move farther down the stem toward the folding base.

There are three vertically arranged Allen bolts in the section shown in the procedure.
The video clearly shows these three fasteners at about 00:20.
Step 6: Tighten the First Lower Clamp Bolt
Insert the Allen key fully into the uppermost of the three bolts.
Turn it clockwise until it is secure.
Do not use an impact tool or uncontrolled force.
The purpose is to remove looseness at the clamped connection without damaging the bolt or threads.
Step 7: Tighten the Second Clamp Bolt
Move to the middle bolt.
Tighten it securely with the Allen key.

Keep an eye on the stem alignment while moving between the bolts.
Step 8: Tighten the Third Clamp Bolt
Move to the lowest of the three clamp bolts.
Tighten it in the same way.

After all three have been checked, go back over them once more rather than assuming the first bolt is still correctly seated after the other two were tightened.
Step 9: Check the Stem for Play Again
Hold the front wheel or fork again.
Push and pull the stem forward and backward.

Compare the movement with what you felt before adjustment.

There should no longer be obvious looseness at the fasteners that were adjusted.
Step 10: Turn the Handlebar Left and Right
After tightening the stem hardware, move the handlebar through its steering range.

The steering should still move normally without obvious binding.
Do not skip this check.
If steering becomes noticeably stiff after the adjustment, stop and recheck the work rather than riding the scooter in that condition.
Step 11: Check the Folding Area
Since the adjustment is close to the lower stem and folding mechanism, inspect that area before riding.
Check that:
- the stem remains correctly seated;
- the folding mechanism closes normally;
- no fastener has been left loose;
- the steering remains free;
- no cable was trapped or pulled during the adjustment.
Step 12: Do a Stationary Brake-and-Push Check
With the scooter stationary, hold the brake and gently rock the scooter forward and backward.
Watch the lower stem connection again.
This can make remaining play easier to see.
If there is still obvious movement even though the bolts shown in the video are secure, do not keep applying more force to those bolts. The source procedure does not establish that every type of front-end play comes from these clamp fasteners, so the steering-column, folding joint, or bearing area may need a separate inspection.
Final Check
Before riding the Arwibon Q30 scooter, confirm that:
- the upper stem fasteners are secure;

- the stem no longer has obvious forward-and-back play at those mounting points;
- the handlebar turns left and right normally;
- the folding mechanism remains correctly seated;
