How to Remove the Pedal Cover on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter
This tutorial covers removal of the Arwibon Q30 pedal cover to access the battery, controller, charging-port wiring, and other components inside the deck.
Tools Needed
Prepare:
- Utility knife or small craft knife
- Allen key
- Flat-head screwdriver or pry tool
- Protective gloves
Remove the 12 Pedal Cover Bolts
Step 1: Locate the 12 Mounting Points
The Arwibon Q30 pedal cover is secured by 12 bolts, with 6 mounting points on each side.
The official video shows the mounting positions at about 00:01.
Some of the bolt heads are covered by the anti-slip surface on top of the deck.
Step 2: Open the Anti-Slip Surface Above Each Bolt
Use a utility knife to carefully cut a small circular opening around the covered screw position.
The official Arwibon Q30 video shows this at about 00:05.
Remove only enough material to expose the recessed Allen bolt.
Keep the blade away from your fingers and avoid cutting unnecessarily into the surrounding deck surface.
Step 3: Remove the First Bolt
Insert the Allen key fully into the recessed bolt head.
The official video shows the first bolt being removed at about 00:09.
Turn counterclockwise and remove the bolt completely.
Step 4: Remove the Remaining Bolts on One Side
Continue along the edge of the deck.
Open the anti-slip surface above each screw position and remove the bolts one by one.
The official video shows this process continuing from about 00:13.
Keep the removed bolts together so none are lost.
Step 5: Remove the Bolts on the Opposite Side
Move to the other side of the deck.
Repeat the same process.
The official Arwibon Q30 video shows the opposite-side bolts being removed at about 00:27.
Continue until all mounting points have been checked.
Step 6: Confirm That All 12 Bolts Are Removed
Before trying to lift the pedal cover, count the removed hardware.
There should be 12 mounting bolts in total.
The supplied procedure specifically shows 6 on each side.
Do not pry the cover while any mounting bolt remains installed.
If one area of the cover refuses to move, check the bolt positions again before applying more force.
Separate the Pedal Cover From the Deck
Step 7: Move to the Right Rear Corner
The official Arwibon Q30 video shows the recommended opening point near the right rear edge of the deck at about 01:03.
This area is close to the rear suspension and swingarm section.
Start opening the cover here rather than prying randomly around the center edges.
Step 8: Insert a Flat Pry Tool Into the Seam
Place the tip of a flat-head screwdriver or suitable pry tool between the pedal cover and the deck edge.
The official video shows this at about 01:05.
Insert only enough of the tool to begin opening the seam.
Do not drive the screwdriver deeply into the battery compartment.
A plastic pry tool is preferable when available because it is less likely to mark or bend the cover edge.
Step 9: Break the Cover Seal
Apply controlled outward and upward pressure.
The official Arwibon Q30 video shows the cover being pried at about 01:08.
The cover may resist because the deck seal holds the two surfaces together.
Use enough pressure to release the seam, but do not twist the cover excessively.
If it will not move, stop and verify again that all 12 bolts have been removed.
Step 10: Lift the Cover by Hand
Once a gap has opened, remove the pry tool and grip the edge of the cover.
The official video shows the cover being lifted at about 01:13.
Raise it slowly.
Watch the inside edge while lifting in case any sealing material is still holding the cover in place.
Step 11: Remove the Pedal Cover Completely
Lift the metal cover away from the scooter.
The official Arwibon Q30 video shows complete removal at about 01:16.
The battery, controller, and wiring compartment are visible at about 01:18.
Place the removed cover on a flat surface where it will not be bent or stepped on.
After the Cover Is Open
If the purpose of opening the deck is only inspection or cleaning, avoid disturbing the electrical connectors unnecessarily.
If you need to work on the battery, controller, motor wiring, charging port, or other electrical parts, disconnect the yellow XT60 main battery connector before continuing.
Hold the XT60 by the plastic housings when separating it.
Do not use metal tools around exposed battery terminals.
Check the Deck Seal
Before beginning any deeper repair, look at the sealing area around the deck.
Check for:
- torn or displaced sealing material;
- water marks;
- dirt inside the sealing surface;
- damaged cover edges;
- corrosion around the bolt holes.
If the scooter was opened because of water intrusion, inspect the battery and controller compartment before cleaning or reconnecting anything.
Important Notes
All 12 Bolts Must Be Removed First
The pedal cover is held by 12 bolts.
Do not assume the cover is simply stuck if it will not open.
Check all 6 positions on each side before using a pry tool.
Use the Rear Corner as the Opening Point
The supplied procedure opens the cover from the right rear corner.
Starting at the shown seam reduces unnecessary levering around other edges of the cover.
Do Not Pry Deeply Into the Deck
The battery and wiring are directly below the cover.
Keep the pry tool close to the seam.
Do not insert a screwdriver far enough to contact the battery, controller, or wiring.
Disconnect Main Power Before Electrical Work
Once the cover is open, disconnect the yellow XT60 battery connector before performing electrical repairs or disconnecting other power-related wiring.
Final Check
After removing the Arwibon Q30 pedal cover, confirm that:
- all 12 mounting bolts are removed and accounted for;
- the cover was opened without bending the edge;
- the sealing surface was not badly damaged;
- no wiring was cut or pinched during removal;
- no tool contacted the battery;
- the battery and controller compartment are accessible for the required repair.
