How to Install the Rear Hydraulic Brake on an Arwibon GT08 Scooter
Installing the rear hydraulic brake on an arwibon gt08 scooter involves more than mounting the caliper. The oil line has to be connected without losing brake fluid, routed through the stem and deck without sharp bends, and the electronic brake cutoff connector must be plugged in correctly.
The official Arwibon GT08 tutorial shows the complete installation from the brake caliper connection to the final cable routing and deck reassembly.
Step 1: Connect the Hydraulic Brake Line to the Caliper
Start with the rear brake caliper.
Use an open-end wrench to loosen or position the brake-line fitting on the caliper.
The official arwibon gt08 video shows this beginning at about 00:02.
Before inserting the hydraulic line, hold the caliper with the brake connection facing upward.
This position is important. The video specifically shows the brake being kept upright to reduce the chance of brake fluid leaking out while the line is being connected.
Insert the hydraulic line into the caliper fitting.
Once the line is seated, use the wrench to tighten the connection.
The fitting is tightened at about 00:15.
Check the joint before continuing. There should be no visible looseness around the brake-line connection.
Step 2: Position the Rear Brake Caliper
Move the caliper to the rear wheel.
Guide the brake disc between the brake pads and position the caliper on its mounting bracket.
The official gt08 electric scooter tutorial shows the caliper being fitted around the disc at about 01:33.
Insert the two caliper mounting bolts.
Use the correct Allen wrench to tighten them at about 01:44.
Before fully finishing this section, look at the brake disc through the caliper.
The disc should sit between the pads without being forced hard against one side.
Do not pull or twist the hydraulic line while positioning the caliper.
Step 3: Install the Rear Brake Lever on the Handlebar
Move to the handlebar.
Slide the rear hydraulic brake lever assembly onto the right side of the handlebar.
The official arwibon gt08 tutorial shows the brake lever being installed at about 00:35.
Set the lever in a position that can be reached comfortably from the grip.
Do not fully tighten it until the throttle and grip have also been positioned.
Step 4: Install the Throttle and Handlebar Grip
Install the throttle assembly onto the same side of the handlebar.
Position it next to the brake lever.
The video then shows lubricant being used before the rubber grip is pushed onto the end of the handlebar.
This part begins at about 02:04.
Push the grip fully into position.
Once the brake lever, throttle and grip are sitting correctly, tighten the lower mounting screws with an Allen wrench.
The official Arwibon GT08 scooter video shows these screws being tightened at about 02:28.
Check that the throttle can still return freely after the screws are tightened.
Step 5: Connect the Electronic Brake Cutoff Plug
The hydraulic brake lever also has an electrical cutoff signal wire.
Locate the waterproof connector coming from the brake lever and the matching connector on the main wiring harness.
The connection is shown at about 02:39.
Before pushing the two connectors together, check the alignment marks and the internal pin position.
The official video specifically warns against forcing the connector when the pins are not aligned.
Hold both connector bodies straight and push them together gently.
Do not twist the connector or push at an angle.
If it does not go in easily, pull it back apart and check the alignment again.
Bent pins can damage the brake cutoff connection.
Step 6: Organize the Handlebar Wiring
Once the brake lever and electrical connector are installed, organize the hydraulic line together with the other handlebar cables.
Use zip ties to keep the lines together without crushing them.

Leave enough movement near the handlebar so the steering can turn normally.
Do not pull the brake hose tight between the handlebar and the stem.
Step 7: Wrap the Cable Bundle
Install the spiral cable wrap around the brake hose and electrical wires.
Start near the upper section and work downward.
The official video shows this at about 03:33.
Wrap the bundle neatly, but do not make it so tight that the hydraulic line is squeezed or forced into a sharp bend.
The protective wrap should keep the cables together while still allowing them to follow the natural steering movement.
Step 8: Route the Brake Line Down the Stem
Guide the hydraulic line down toward the lower section of the front stem.
Follow the same general path shown in the official GT08 tutorial.
From there, feed the brake line into the frame and toward the deck compartment.
The video shows the line entering the lower frame area at about 04:36.
Pull the hose through gradually.
Do not drag the fitting hard against the edge of the frame opening.
Step 9: Route the Brake Line Through the Deck
Continue feeding the brake hose through the internal channel of the deck.
This is one of the most important parts of the installation.
The hydraulic line must not be folded, kinked or trapped in a sharp corner.
The official video points this out at about 05:08.
If the line develops a tight bend while being pulled through the frame, stop and straighten it before continuing.
Do not leave a kink hidden inside the deck.
The hose needs a smooth path from the brake lever to the rear caliper.
Step 10: Bring the Brake Line Out Near the Rear Swingarm
Guide the hose toward the rear of the deck and pull it through the rear outlet.
The official arwibon scooter gt08 video shows this at about 05:14.
From there, route it toward the rear brake caliper.
Check the full length of the line.
There should be no sharp bend where it exits the deck or where it reaches the rocker arm area.
Also leave enough movement around the rear suspension so the hose is not stretched when the suspension moves.
Step 11: Check the Caliper and Brake Line
Return to the rear wheel.
Make sure the brake hose is still securely connected to the caliper and that the fitting has not loosened during routing.
Check around the connection for any sign of brake fluid.
Look at the brake disc again and confirm that it is still centered between the brake pads as shown in the installation.
If the hose has become twisted, correct the routing before closing the deck.
Step 12: Organize the Wiring Inside the Deck
Arrange the hydraulic hose and electrical wiring inside the deck compartment.
Keep the brake line away from areas where the deck cover or screws could pinch it.
The wiring should sit naturally inside the compartment rather than being forced underneath other parts.
Also check the brake cutoff connector again before closing the scooter.
Step 13: Reinstall the Deck Cover
Once the brake line and wiring are routed correctly, place the deck cover back into position.
Make sure no cable or hydraulic hose is trapped around the edge.
Install the deck screws and tighten them.

Step 14: Check the Brake Before Riding
Before riding the gt08 scooter, squeeze the rear brake lever several times.
The lever should operate normally.
Check the rear caliper and hydraulic fitting again for any visible leak.
Then inspect the complete brake-line route from the handlebar to the rear wheel.
Make sure:
- the caliper fitting is tight;
- the brake hose has no sharp bends or kinks;
- the waterproof brake cutoff connector is fully seated;
- the throttle and brake lever are secure;
- the cable bundle does not restrict steering;
- the hose is not pinched inside the deck;
- the rear brake disc sits correctly between the pads.
Do not ride the arwibon gt08 electric scooter if the brake lever feels abnormal, fluid is leaking, or the brake hose has been damaged during installation.
