How to Adjust the Locking Head on an Arwibon GT06 Scooter
If the stem on your arwibon gt06 scooter feels loose around the folding joint, the locking head may only need adjustment. The official GT06 tutorial shows two main adjustment points: the center screw inside the folding base and the screws on the side of the locking sleeve.
Use a correctly sized Allen wrench. A T-handle Allen wrench is easier to use around the folding area.
Turn off the scooter and place it on a stable surface before you start.
Step 1: Fold the Stem Down
Open the folding safety lock and release the folding latch.
Lower the front stem until the inside of the folding base is exposed.
You will see the center adjustment screw inside the folding base.
This step appears at about 00:09 in the official arwibon gt06 video.
Step 2: Adjust the Center Screw
Insert the Allen wrench into the vertical screw in the center of the folding base.
Turn the screw clockwise slightly.
Do not tighten it heavily in one go. Make a small adjustment first, then raise the stem and check the result.
A simple way to do this is:
- Turn the center screw slightly.
- Raise the stem.
- Close the folding latch.
- Check whether the stem movement has been reduced.
If the folding latch becomes noticeably harder to close, the center screw may be too tight.
The center screw adjustment is shown at about 00:12–00:15.
Step 3: Raise and Lock the Stem
Lift the stem back into the normal riding position.
Close the folding latch fully.
Hold the handlebar and check whether the stem feels tighter than before.
If there is still movement around the folding area, continue with the side screws.
This part of the arwibon gt06 scooter tutorial appears at about 00:20.
Step 4: Adjust the Side Screws
Locate the screws on the side of the locking sleeve.
Insert the Allen wrench into one side screw and tighten it slightly.
Then move to the screw on the opposite side.
Do not fully tighten one side before adjusting the other.
Work back and forth between both sides:
- Tighten the first side slightly.
- Move to the opposite side.
- Make a similar adjustment.
- Close the folding latch and check the stem.
- Repeat only if there is still noticeable play.
The side screw adjustment begins at about 00:27 in the official video.
Alternating between both sides keeps the locking sleeve from being pulled too far to one side.
Step 5: Check the Folding Latch
Open and close the folding latch again.
It should lock firmly, but it should not require excessive force.
If the latch becomes much harder to close after the adjustment, loosen the screws slightly and test it again.
The goal is not to tighten every screw as much as possible. The folding mechanism on the gt06 electric scooter still needs to open and close normally.
Step 6: Check the Stem for Movement
With the folding latch fully closed, hold the handlebar and gently push the stem forward and backward.
Watch the folding joint while doing this.
There should be no obvious looseness around the locking area.
The official video shows this check at about 01:00.
If movement is still present, return to the center screw or side screws and make another small adjustment.
Avoid making large changes all at once.
Step 7: Final Check
Before riding the arwibon gt06 electric scooter, check the folding mechanism one more time.
Make sure:
- the stem is fully upright;
- the folding latch is fully closed;
- the safety lock is engaged;
- the stem does not have obvious play;
- the folding mechanism can still be opened normally.
The final check is shown near 01:10 in the official tutorial.
Do not keep tightening the locking head if the stem still moves after proper adjustment. If the movement remains, inspect the folding hardware before riding again.
This procedure follows the official Arwibon Scooter GT06 Scooter Locking Head Tutorial and is intended for adjusting looseness in the folding and locking area of the arwibon scooter gt06.
