How to Remove the Front Brake Cable on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter
This tutorial covers removal of the front brake inner cable on an arwibon q30 scooter. The cable is released from the front brake caliper first, then disconnected from the left brake lever and pulled out through the existing outer cable housing.
If you are replacing only the inner cable, the original outer housing can stay on the scooter.
Tools Needed
Prepare:
- Allen key
- Wire cutters or pliers if the cable end cap needs to be removed
- Protective gloves
Old brake cables can develop sharp, frayed wire strands, so gloves are useful when pulling the cable out.
Step 1: Locate the Front Brake Caliper
Move to the front wheel and locate the mechanical brake caliper.

Find the cable fixing bolt on the caliper arm.
Step 2: Loosen the Cable Fixing Bolt
Use the correct Allen wrench to loosen the cable fixing bolt.
The official q30 electric scooter video shows this at about 00:04.
Loosen the bolt enough for the steel inner cable to come free from the clamp.
There is no need to remove the brake caliper itself for this procedure.
Step 3: Release the Inner Cable From the Caliper
Pull the brake inner cable out from under the clamping washer and out of its retaining position.

If the end of the old cable has an aluminum end cap that prevents it from passing through the hardware, remove the cap first.
Be careful around a frayed cable end.
Step 4: Remove the Spring and Adjuster Hardware
Slide the protective spring off the inner cable.
Remove the adjuster or guide tube from the cable path as shown in the original brake assembly.

Keep these parts together for the new cable installation.
Step 5: Free the Cable at the Front Wheel
Pull the inner cable out through the end of the front brake outer housing.

At this point, the lower end of the brake cable should be completely disconnected from the front caliper.
Leave the outer housing in place if it is still in good condition and will be reused.
Step 6: Move to the Left Brake Lever
Move to the left side of the handlebar, where the front brake lever is located.

Locate the barrel adjuster and its locking ring where the brake cable enters the lever body.
Step 7: Align the Adjuster Slots
Rotate the barrel adjuster and locking ring until their slots line up with the slot in the brake lever.

The openings should form one continuous path.
This allows the brake inner cable to move sideways out of the lever assembly.
Step 8: Pull the Cable Through the Lever Slot
Squeeze the brake lever enough to expose and release the cable.
Guide the cable sideways through the aligned openings.

Keep the slots aligned until the cable is completely clear of the adjuster.
Step 9: Release the Cable End From the Lever
Look at the underside of the brake lever.
The cylindrical metal end of the brake cable sits in a retaining pocket inside the lever.
The official video shows this being released at about 00:29.
Push or guide the metal cable end out of the slot.
Once it comes free, the cable is no longer attached to the brake lever.
Step 10: Pull the Inner Cable Out of the Housing
Hold the brake cable at the handlebar end.
Pull it steadily out through the outer cable housing.

Continue until the entire steel inner cable has been removed.
If the cable catches inside the housing, stop and check the cable path instead of pulling harder.
Step 11: Inspect the Removed Brake Cable
Check the old inner cable for:
- frayed strands;
- rust;
- flattened sections;
- sharp bends;
- damaged cable ends.
If the cable is badly frayed, check that no loose steel strands remain inside the outer housing.
Step 12: Keep the Outer Housing in Place
If you are replacing only the inner cable, leave the black outer brake housing routed through the arwibon q30 scooter.
Make sure the housing ends remain seated in their guides.
Keeping the original housing in position makes feeding the new brake cable much easier.
