How to Adjust the Front and Rear Brakes on an Arwibon Q30 Scooter
This tutorial covers front and rear mechanical brake adjustment on an Arwibon Q30 scooter. It is useful when the brake lever travel feels too long, braking feels weak, the brake disc rubs the pads, or the brake cables or pads have recently been replaced.

Step 4: Tighten the Rear Cable Clamp Bolt
Keep the caliper arm and cable in position.

Step 5: Spin the Rear Wheel
Rotate the rear wheel by hand.

Do not preload the caliper so far that the pads remain pressed against the disc.
Step 11: Tighten the Front Cable Clamp Bolt
Hold the cable and caliper arm in position.

Step 12: Spin the Front Wheel
Rotate the front wheel firmly by hand.

Step 13: Test the Front Brake Lever
Squeeze the front brake lever.

The supplied procedure uses approximately one-third to one-half of the lever travel as the target point for strong braking response.
The exact lever feel may vary with cable condition, pad wear, and caliper adjustment, so the important point is that the lever should not reach the handlebar before the brake engages.
Step 14: Fine-Tune the Cable Tension
If either brake still has too much lever travel, use the cable barrel adjuster for a small correction.
If the brake begins rubbing after adjustment, reduce the tension slightly.
Make one small change at a time, then:
- spin the wheel;
- squeeze the brake lever;
- release it;
- spin the wheel again.
This makes it easier to find the correct balance between lever travel and pad clearance.
Step 15: Check for Brake Disc Rubbing
Spin both wheels separately.
A light intermittent sound can indicate the disc is not running perfectly centered, while heavy continuous resistance means the brake needs further adjustment.
